In India, Good fast bowlers are not nurtured and encouraged the way Aus/English do...part of the reason is slow dead pitches....suddenly if someone from India touches 145 kmph , the expectations are sky high...Varun Aaron and Umesh Yadav have shown a lot of promise...hope they are groomed properly...I am not sure how good a job MRF pace foundation is doing...Pakistan without any Pace foundation has better fast bowlers than India...The art of fast bowling needs to be taken seriously else we would look clueless when we go to foreign tours and play with quality teams.
When will India get a fast bowler like Dale Steyn...?.If we would have such a bowler, we could win the series in Austarlia & South Africa more than a decade ago.........
I think Ponting should now retire, given that he cannot find his form anytime soon. Its better than being dropped by Cricket Australia after the SA series. Ponting has not scored consistently from the past 2 years.
The Oz team is declining fast and Cricket Australia soon needs to act on it. The downfall of Aus team is a result of poor planning when the team was at its prime. They knew that the likes of McGrath, Gillespie, Warne, Hayden, Gilchrist, Langer, Bevan etc. will retire almost at the same time, but they failed to build a back-up team. This poor planning is now showing off.
In the current team, only Watson & Mike Hussey seem to be consistent.

Ponting is a much better then Aila sachin, much more mentally stronger who has in the past played winning innings for his country. He has proved himself in all sorts of conditions, it is true that off late he is not amongst run but you can expect a great player like him to bounce back. I expect a Match winning century from him the second innings.

lol. pounter much better thaan aila sachin. cricket lovers laugh with ass. sachin is universal great batsman. equal to god status. how punter. never consistent. he played superb only one year, tht too when sachin was in injuries.
When India will hAve pacers like Steyn ,Since 1932 India has not produced any World Class EXPRESS bowler.Remember Kapil dev was a medium swing at his best and Pakistan has got similar dead and flat pitches like India.

Well its too bad that I was not given a chance when i was in Prime form . I used to bowl consistently at 155-160 K , in swinger/outswinger, bouncer.yorker u name it I was master of all skills.
