Never got the punishment he deserves, he should have been behind the bars. He is another criminal sitting in the parliament. Politics is the last refuge of a scoundrel.

He was charged with IPC 420 which had minimum punishment or even can get out of it by paying some amount;
Problem is they cannot charged for anti-nationalism as legally they are not playing for India or representing India; they are playing for a club called BCCI; the new sports bill which is pending will takeover BCCI as an Indian govt. sports body and then you can have all these law into effect;
So although general public sentiments consider it as players playing for India but legally they are playing for BCCI which BCCI once proclaimed in court in some case also;

why no indians are involved in match fixing.
by brian crasto on Nov 18, 2011 02:38 PM  | Hide replies

Its a great thing that in a corrupted country like ours there there is no match fixing in cricket. They are really setting great examples to our youngster. Or is something fishy going behind the scene

Match fixing in Cricket

India with its AHIMSA ideology is offering maximum protection to the guilty. It did not take any action against BAL THAKAREY, the Shiv Sena leader who openly abused MAHATMA GANDHI, father of the NATION, a few years ago. If they were living abroad, Azharuddin and Jadeja would have been charged with anti-nationalism and incarcerated lifelong.

What about 2003 World Cup Final
by Sachin Saxena on Nov 18, 2011 02:11 PM  | Hide replies

If this is the case then even the 2003 World Cup Final in which Saurav Ganguly decided to field against Australia should also be opened.

Who knows even that was fixed.

Fall of wickets1-8 (Sidhu), 2-98 (Tendulkar), 3-99 (Azharuddin), 4-101 (Manjrekar), 5-110 (Srinath), 6-115 (Jadeja), 7-120 (Mongia), 8-120 (Kapoor) see the fall of wickets sachin on 98 after 90 runs partnership then azar then sanjay then shreenath then jadeja there is some thing fishy when you play the game as professional not hobby like us even 2007 world cup dhoni underperformed to teach dravid lesson of life time so also harbhajan and agarkar that is why india lost 2007 world cup match against shri lanka in carenbean islands in view of D gang geting black money poured in the match fixing scams including all IPL Mumbai Police must give black cammandos protection to Kambli Vinod immediately

I would have consider it as fishy if something of this collapse of wicket never happened in the world cricket; and if you see the match you will find that Eden garden pitch that day was behaving so strangely even Jayasuriya was spinning the ball like Shane warne;
So for wickets fall I dont think its fishy but for toss decision it can be because at that time it was known that evening Eden pitch behaves like that;
