REST SACHIN AND PLAY A RAHANE IN MUMBAI
by damodaran mohan on Nov 18, 2011 02:35 PM

As expected India clinch the series 2-0 and the chances of them making it 3-0 are quite bright. The entire squad gelled as a team and dished out a clinical performance with stand out performance coming from Laxman ,Dhoni and Yadav. But the greatest plus for India easily are the way the experience and youth power are combining seamlessly towards building of a strong Test side gradually. It is now for the selectors to build on this strength and effect the transition to the next generation by putting in place timely succession planning for the seniors. That exercise can begin in right earnest by resting Sachin and playing A Rahane in Mumbai who can start his carreer on his home ground. The undue delay in getting the 100th hundred is already putting more and more pressure on Sachin whose performance on the home ground are not great where he was booed also in the past.Further,India can also take this opportunity to try others on the bench. On the other hand WI though lost the match also carry the positive of the gallant fight back of 2nd innings especially the likes of C Paul,D Bravo, Samuels and even D Samy..etc. who could be expected to put up a gritty performance with bat once again. However the Bowling has been a big let down for the WI with even the young inexperienced Indian attack scoring over them.

Before the start of Series (in the last two yeras) the focus has always been on Sachin and his records, but when the series kicks off and progressed it is Laxman or Dravid who stole the limelight. It has been happening for quite sometime, without Dravid and Laxman India could not have won matches in Sri Lanka, South Africa and WestIndies(you can see the record books for evidence). Everyone is forgetting one basic point, it is becuase of the presense of Laxman and Dravid, Sachin scored freely and was able amass centuries and runs in every format of the game. Sachin never acknowledged it, this shows how selfish he is. I would not surprised in near future if someone says Dravid and Laxman are above Sachins and Laras.

RE: Darren Bravo's fighting ton can't save West Indies

Yeah, Yeah! Let us break out the hyperbole: Indian Bowlers are bowling as a unit! Indian Batting has depth! Indian Fielders have found their legs! Indian Captain is a Master Strategist! Yes, we get the picture. Guess India is playing at home? Let us see how this crew does when it goes overseas again. Still, a win is a win and our boys deserve praise! Congratulations! But, please do not get carried away.

CONGRATULATIONS

Good win by India. Windies tried their best and good luck to them for the Mumbai test.
Sachin and Yuvi should not be considered for the downunder tour as they cannot face the Aussies pace attack in the bouncy Australian pitches. However Sachin should be considered for the Bangladesh tour so that he can score his hundredth century. Yuvi may be considered for the future one day series.

Thanks Aurbindo for your valuable and sacred words. Should we keep Manmohan singh as PM as well. Please advise so that action can be taken immedietely. Also let us know who should be the President of China as well as they are searching for one.

K Ram
Team to Australia
by K Ram on Nov 17, 2011 06:58 PM

Let Zak / Nehra / Munaf / Praveen be not considered for selection for the tour down under if they're not 100% match fit and if they can not play all the matches. Of late, it has become Zak's habit to declare his fitness and availability for selection prior to any tour abroad and breakdown in the beginning itself. It's not a jolly trip or honeymoon nor he's making it on his dad's money. Players half fit or not match fit must be ignored however talented they're and whatever be their past records in Australia. In the case of one Mr. Harbhajan Singh, he's terribly off colour and is not even taking wickets in the Ranji matches in helping home conditions. He definitely is past his prime and he can only enter contention after proving his worth in the domestic matches. Rubbish and idiotic justifications like, " Form is temporary and class is permanent" by vested interests must clearly be ignored by the selection committee. It must be, Ojha, Ashwin and Amit Mishra / Piyush Chawla (if a leggie is required at all) for the spin department. Yuvi has had share of chances and it's not fair to keep someone as talented as Virat waiting. Virat must be considered ahead of Yuvi and Let Pujara and Badri play domestic cricket and prove their fitness before being considered.
