No crowd for Test matches ! BCCI has panicked ! The whole Cricket world in danger !! Cricket Boards of all the cricket playing countries are struggling financially except BCCI. Now BCCI too !! Jeff Boycott was right. India should not have been white-washed in England. It will be bad for Cricket !

What we expect in alien conditions, your strike bowler who can use the conditions and give you a chance down and out after bowling 9 overs in a tour of 4 tests and your established opener not available for 2 matches and for the remaining two matches he is coming back from an injury and without any match practice, your top batsman just managed to struck a bad patch after a tremendous form for the last 2 years. A WHITE WASH. And that too against a team which is raring to go at No.1 spot ,with full squad, in their own backyard.Nothing wrong with it. It doesn't mean India's end or England's eternal supremacy. Just for that matter England got white washed in India just after one month shows there is hardly nothing to differentiate the two teams.

WHO CARES

The current administrators tenure will be over by the time test cricket dies .They have made enough money for them selves .Business prospered -so what is the worry ? Next they will have more and more IPL and WC - may be seasons champioship. Also who is bothered about gate collection ? All the money is from product advertisement - hope if they see TRP they have to cut down wasting money in ads. Here we miss some bowling or repeat of shots made .See the AUS & SA matches - it is beautiful in between focus on the beaustiful surrounding etc .Also they have learnt - that is cisual and less you talk the better .Indian commentators for each region or state would like to talk about players , promotion ? Sing songs about the great adminstration of the game - real sychophants.

Poor Crowd at Test venues.
by sam Bandopadhyay on Nov 16, 2011 07:24 AM

The main reason for this is that there has been far too much of cricket of late. BCCI is not the only organization who wants to make money. The crowds also have to watch their pockets in these hard days when people have to slog for a decent living. You cannot expect to squander all your saving on cricket matches and take time off from your work on all occassions. It is hard on the fans and the crowd these days. Yes taking the cricket matches to other less well known venues may help the attendance problems somewhat, even though it may be temporary in nature. They will have to constantly rotate the venues as there must not be too much cricket in one venue. Above all it is the super saturated form of cricket which is killing the viewer attendance. There has to be a limit to everything.Just because BCCI think they can make money they should not kill the overall interest in the game. As can be clearly seen the IPL generated a fair amount of interest and minted money for cricket. However the repeated dose of it is gradualling killing the interest in the game and the attendance is going down. It is a case of the hen laying the golden egg.BCCI has just become too greedy.

What a beautiful logic man!

If you take the longest form to small towns you will have more audience?

1. Start tests on thursday and not on a monday
2. Reduce ticket cost
3. Make going to a game a pleasurable experience.

May I know the reason for your comment Mr. Non-Desh Pande. You want to all Tamilans to tatto Indian Flag in their forehead. With due respect, I dont think they have done anything wrong to you to write such a comment about them.

Reasons for poor crowd turnout
by Abstract baba on Nov 15, 2011 08:40 PM

1. Bad pitch - People get bored really

2. Too much cricket

3. Highly priced tickets

4. Test matches played in Day time affects productivity. promote Test cricket in Day night.

5. Poor facilities in the stadium - sometimes the stands themselves stink and un usable toilets.

6. Traffic and police problems at the venue.
