Tendulkar is lucky he is born in india, any sporting country never allows players at his age to ply their trade simply for money.

Not true. Gooch played till 41-42 years. Imran played to 39-40.
Amarnath too. Many such examples around. Sachin still has about 2 years of high quality cricket left.

These calls for SRT to retire are simply disrespectful to the man & quite thoughtless. Look at the facts: he does not play cautiously so he can he get THAT century and he partners with Dravid to ensure victory. Next, look at the team sheet: 3 youngsters (Ojha, Ashwin and Yadav) have been included. Look at his performance: It is flawless, his strike rate and returns are top notch. Why should he not keep playing? Yet, people keep crying that Sachin is selfish, that he plays for records and that he is keeping youngsters out etc. Really? Celebrate the fact that India finally won a Test (a win is a win and if anyone believes otherwise, they simply have not played competitive sport) and move on. Or, Get a Life!

Shrikar D. Just ignore them.
They are out to simply make some noise, or/and they're jealous.

Absolutely true. Most of these folks barking against Tendulkar wouldn't have played cricket with a cricket ball...most of them are couch potatoes. So ignore these morons.

Wrong example
by ContraView on Nov 09, 2011 10:00 PM  | Hide replies

I have great respect for Tendulkar for his onfield achievements and off field gentlemanly behaviour. But somewhere there is a little thought that he should make way for others. He is not even talking about his plan for retirement. He is setting a wrong example which will be very very difficult to correct in the time to come. Every player who sticks around would justify on this basis.

It is upto Tendulkar to decide whether he wants to retire as a great PLAYER with unbeatable records or as a great INDIVIDUAL. DON BRADMAN is respected as much as TENDULKAR when it comes to records.

Dear ContraView,

Let's assume that you 56 year old VP of Marketing for Pepsi in India and doing great job along with your team. Will still resign for someone or let that person make his own way in organization.
We have decide that retirement age should be 58 years coz person needs rest. Should you resign cause you are getting closer to retirement age?

Regards,

Let the country produce someone half good as SRT...then talk all this nonsense..Everyone has to make their own way..and certainly removing the best in the team is not a way to do it...

It doesn't matter whether he got it or not. What matters is he was the one who contributed the most in the Indian run chase.

His 76 runs is more valuable than his 100th 100 because it very much helped India to win the match. Country first, not individual milestones. There is no need to create so much hype about this new milestone. He should get a good batting wicket to achieve this feat. So let it take its own time.

Tendulkar and 100th ton
by Venkatachalam on Nov 09, 2011 08:42 PM  | Hide replies

It will come in due course,so why fret over it. When he scored 7 runs in first innings they said he missed an opportunity and when he scored 76 also they said he missed a century. Are'nt we too much worried about individuals?

The media is unnecessarily building up a hype about Tendulkar's century which creates a lot of pressure on a player. It will come. Please do not create a hype. India winning the game is more important than Tendulkar's century. He has played well and is partly responsible for India's victory for which we should be proud of.
Best wishes to the Indian team.
