Ashvin has proved his worth and we are happy the selection committee gave him the break at the right time. He will be an asset on the Astralian tour.

Sachin should retire like Kapil dev
by pannerselvam elango on Nov 08, 2011 06:47 PM  | Hide replies

Even Kapil struggled for many matches to get past Hadlee's record and he retired gracefully.Sachin should score another 100 and retire like him.He really looks lost the charm in the game.

I don't think Kapil retired with any grace. He took 16 Test Matches to reach 434 from 401. Even before that, he had become a pain to watch. His fastest delivery was slower than that of Kumble.
Sachin luckily is a batsman, and will invariably score some runs every time he plays. A bowler on the other hand can go wicketless in an entire series, as Kapil Dev did against Australia in India in 1985-86.

You are requested to study more on Kapil Dev..... the time he played for India... the circumstances under which he went through.... there were many facts to know... there is no comparison between Kapil and Sachin.... both are legend and still both are No.1 in the world in their respective orders.

Yes , as chance of scoring 100 runs in this match is very very remote.

Bhajji
by mahesh gupta on Nov 08, 2011 06:20 PM  | Hide replies

It should be the end of road for over hyped Bhajji. To me Ojha's performance is fluke but Ashwin has really bowled well and get all his wickets due to brilliant variations.

Yes, Bhaji can't even take a single wicket for Punjab in Ranji and got duck (0) out in first ball. We need to groom Ojha and Ashwin for the test matches. Bye! Bye! Harbhajan, Please prove yourself in local matches to claim a place in National side otherwise it is End of the road for you.

I am not sure of Ojha. Rahul sharma might be a better long term prospect

Rahul sharma is also good but not proven yet. Ojha is the best left hand spinner that we have now. Also Ashwin and him share right and left combinations which will be more effective in any condition.

You cricket fans are so fickle minded and have so short memory!
One day you will dance chanting Bhajji, Bhajji ...
Next day when he does not perform you will call him an idiot!

We are not calling him an idiot. we are making him to work hard in local matches to prove his worth instead of his overconfident talking and bulling the opponent for no reason.

The real danger is after lunch
by pradeep agarwal on Nov 08, 2011 05:48 PM  | Hide replies

The pitch survived today as Sun played hide & seek all day.It will crack even with one hour of Sunlight & Indians should try to score as many before lunch if they wish to win.Anything more than 75 post lunch will be difficult to make.

Re: The real danger is after lunch

I'm not sure if that is right . Till now , there is no evidence of the pitch breaking up in excess and there is no reason to think it will suddenly start crumbling tomorrow . The problem with this pitch has been the poor bounce which happens when the pitch has been insufficiently packed by rolling . Batsmen who have adjusted to the lower bounce , like Chanderpaul , Dravid and Tendulkar in this innings have done well .
Besides , the forecast is for more clouds tomorrow , so maybe sunlight won't be such a factor .
Finally , India needs 124 . In around 30 overs , even at a slow 2.5 runs an over rate , we can still get 75 before lunch , leaving us with less than 50 post lunch .
