Dhoni is very wooden as a keeper and his keeping in England was very ordinary. Kirmani and Mongia were better keepers. Even Ian Healy said Mongia was a better keeper. However Dhoni's contribution as a Captain and Batsman makes him a better package.

if u r rating a keeper by one series,then chk kirani's complete record...u can find many ordinary series
its not how many catches one has taken but how many catches one has dropped, also needs to b taken into account. n kirmany is definitely way ahead of dhoni as keeper.

do you have any idea how many catches kirman dropped? Venkat was so furious at kirmani's atrocious stumping that when he was selector he chose bharat reddy to go to enland in place of kirmani. kirmani was so shocked that after the day the team was declared he just sat in a taxi and asked him to go anywhere he wanted to till kirmani got over his shock...sunil gavaskar has mentioned this incident in his book...
kirmani's keeping was really atrocious at times just as dhoni also brilliant many times. not for nothing he has record of most no. of dismisals in an innings in odi and test...
Firt of all congratulations to Dhoni for breaking Kirmani's record. But Kirmani was far far better than Dhoni. Dhoni may be good package for the team but Kirmani was a very good keeper and also saved somany matches for India and also won matches from losing situations. But Dhoni as a package is better than Kirmani.

dhoni has certainly won more matches for india and saved more matches for india than kirmani...

first of all why compare with kirmani? he is not playing and he is not dhoni's comteporary in cricket....a generation gap please compare always with conteporaries. If you want to compare with retired people they will come again and play for the country.

true. dhoni is not a good keeper. he has got just stats to prove his keeping. quantity cant overtake quality.

This achievements only happened, bcoz Sachinnnnnnnnnnnn is in the Team, that makes a grt differece to the opponents,Dada is most succesful captain, why bcz,Azar,Dhone in the same way, all others say no 1 beat Sachin's record, they how can say, Ok Dhoni is a cool captain, a good player, he can's expect, what u r talking about.
