everyone knows that 5 lacs is nothing amount for sachin but he got player of the year award is more important.
u cant judge the value of award in terms of money.

It doesn't make any sense at all. If award was important, then they should have simply given the medal/shield, not any money. If they wanted to honor any money, then it should be in par with the earnings of the person.
I'm sure Sachin should be dejected receiving this award.
They should have been sensible while framing and declaring this award.

Without taking any credit away from Dhoni for his batting in the finals,he was simply ordinary in his team selection and batting till that point.Even in the finals after the Gauti/Kohli partenship, everybody expected India to win with yuvi and Raina still to bat inlieu of their form and strong performances in earlier matches. India infact wouldn’t have crossed the QF hurdle without contribution from Sachin,Yuvi and Raina. So making comments like he is the best player is absolutely absurd and that too if you consider his batting performances in tests which remains ordinary even after he playing 40-45 tests. Sachin deserves to be the cricketer of the yr for 2009-10.Sehwag does have a chance for 10-11 but his performance in most challenging SA conditions was pathetic. The other one who should be considered for the award along with Sachin is Zaheer for 10-11.

lol. Well restricted to your limited understanding, it might look ordinary. No wonder Dhoni is leading and you are only commenting. India has crossed the QF and reached finals before as well with sachin and failed to win. So whatever web you wish to spin, it is a fact that it was gen next which won the cup for India and that includes Dhoni and Gambhir in lead roles.
Not to take away any credit from Dhoni for his batting in the world cup finals, he was ordinary in team selection and as a batsman till the finals.Without contribution from Sachin,Yuvvi and Raina India wouldnt have crossed even the quarters.In the finals as well after the gauti,kohli partnership if dhoni had not promoted himself,considering the performance of Raina and Yuvi in earlier matches India were expected to win.And making statement like Dhoni the best cricketer during the year is insane if you consider his test performances...which remain average even after playing close to 40-45 test matches.Sachin anydays deserves the best cricketer for 2009-10 and 2010-11 as well.

Please do not belittle the award and the great man associated with it. Respecting elders is a sign of greatness no matter how big one has become...that is what Sachin actually did after accepting the award. I can not understand why one
