the IPL has done a lot to the the Indian young cricketeers more than to top stars of the team. that should be welcome. their proximity to Haydon, Gayle, Malinga, Hussey, Warne, Gilchrist, Sanghkara etc. should take them to higher level in performance.
This guy is a good player. For all the ignorant, please go to cricinfo and read about his performance against all the top ranji teams. He has scored 300's as well. Highly Talented and good selection. Deserves his place. Well Done and good luck mate. All the Selections from TN have proved their worth: 1. Vijay (See IPL and Ranji) 2. Badrinath (See IPL and RAnji) 3. Ashwin (See IPL, World Cup) 4. Abhinav (See Ranji and U-19 and India A)

yeah we need performance at international level not domestic. Cant even face 10 balls in international and gets out what a shame.
Why Mukund and Vijay ahead of Rahane and Jaffer, and why Badrinath ahead of Rohith Sharma, Mohd Kaif everything because they are not from TN. Rahane has done well in last 3 yeas his average is better than Mukund and Vijay. around 60.40, this year Mukund averages better than Rahane only in Dulip trophy. Also Mohd kaif who was dropped from the test side after scoring a century, why not him ? or Rohit Sharma who has done so well in the limited matches he plaid in domestic crciket. Also there are Pandy and Uthappa even though they failed in t20 they are playin very well in domestic cricket.

Vijay and Mukund are specialist opening batsmen. When there is a vacancy they are fortunate to get a chance which doesn't mean that they will get chance when gambir and sehwag get fit. For that they should play consistantly. Rohit, Kaif, Rahane all are middle order players will get chance if they plays consistantly. Example is Raina.. He got chance after playing a lot a one day internationals. Domestic records doesn't ensure international quality.

Rahane is good player but needs to keep playing and eventually he will get a chance. Badrinath, Vijay and Mukund have been highly consistent for TN in Ranji. Rohit Sharma/Pandey/Uthappa/Kaif need to be more consistent.
All TN Players deserve their place. The other good performers will soon get their opps with time. So chill!

Hello Mr.Bangad, do you know the same chief selector named Lungi was reponsible for selecting the Indian team which recently won the WORLD CUP? Were you happy at that point of time?

Still, the same lungis are known for praising the other's talents irrespective of culture than their own men. We have a big history... so please dont play the politics here. It is a game and we can get sportive.

Ashwin is tolerable. The other 3 are simply waste and they certainly dont deserve to be part of Indian team. Mayank Agarwal who has played few games for RCB is thousand times better than the ordinary street cricketer Murali Vijay. Ambati Rayudu and Paul Valthaty are more consistent than Badrinath and Mukund.
