IPL is being approved by BCCI itself, BCCI has banned players who have registered themself with ICL, now if the player want some rest because of injury, BCCI has to consider because when the player was playing for IPL, it was with the approval of BCCI, now BCCI has to see weather this much long IPL is acceptable and immediately after the completion of long IPL, everyone needs rest, so it is BCCI who has to think its stategies not the players, they are human not machines. Think BCCI think its your problem

Its a purely commercial show organized by private ltd company called BCCI controlled by Consumer companies and corporates to use cricket to spin money.
Unlike other games where a National team is authorised by Govt of India controlled authority, cricket is governed by a profit making private company. So, there is no country involved here, but it takes advantage of passion of cricket fans and spins money out of them.
Akram view is not correct... why he expects GAMBHIR to play all matches and tests...the indiviual players can choose not to play a series if they are tired or injured and more other players will have opportuinities... just because these senoir players should get all ooportuinities BCCI cannot have lesser schedule..it is a business to have more turnover..
What the tough schedule of BCCI allows inadvertently, is that the main players need to be rested every now and then to help them rejuvenate. This will create opportunities for upcoming youngsters who can then really showcase their talents better. Everyone will agree that India is playing too much cricket. But then, this inadvertently allows for new players to get a chance as seniors as all other players need to be rested from time to time. BCCI should rest stalwarts and other players should be given chance on tours such as that of West Indies.
What Wasim Akram has said is right. Eventhough cricket has become a commercial sport, the safety of players is important and BCCI should take responsibility and shoud not allow too many matches.
