More such sportsman may be identified & rewarded because that time tounament/matches were less so our sports persons were not finacially well off .They have als contributed thier life time for the nation. Our sports minisry & BCCI is ruch enough to finacially help the deserving sports persons of the past.

He was my favorite during my teens as I loved his style of batting (hitting). I was very happy that he was member of India's victory teams during 1961-62, 1970-71. Congratulations to him--BCCIme derhe andahre nahihe.

Well said Sir, I remember Salim scoring tonnes of runs for Central Zone(1971-72), in a tour game at Indore against Tony Lewis' England and was selected for Madras Test. His stylish knock In that test was instrumental for India to win that test.

Rediff sucks

why rediff abuse him?
We do have alternate meaning for 'sixer' in India. Why is Rediff not careful not to use it against someones name?

It is Sourav Ganguly NOT shorav ganguly.

How would you like it if raj iyer was spelt rhaj aaeeyer?

While we are on the subject of SG there can be no C K Nayudu (Leela Naidu's not going to like that spelling) Lifetime Achievement Award unless he complys with the Supreme Court order to surrender the land (63.04 'katha' land in the posh Salt Lake city worth several crores and reserved for a college) illegally alloted to him by the earlier Kolakata Kommies at a throw-away price of Rs.65 lakhs.

You are a new generation person. You are not aware that in those days when there was no one day match or 20 over match, all cricketers used to play slow games. There was also a time when there was no travel by plane. During such days, this was a feat which people remembered for a long time.
