day-night Test match
by rashmi on May 20, 2011 11:50 AM

1. its electric power wasting idea- should be banned in countries facing power cuts for daily needs.

2. with introduction of 50:50 and 20:20 -test cticket needs some basic changes, may be
50;50 format with two innings and if tie result decider with 20:20.

or similar changes test not more than 2 days.

Power wastage
by gavimath shivanand on May 19, 2011 05:39 PM  | Hide replies

Each day will consume power which should have been used by a small city full day. Govt should not allow this or stadium should use alternate power like solar. If there is a test match means, few cities will have less power or power cuts.

Gavimath has a valid point. Why do we need to play it in Lights when it can be played during the day. Moreover who will gain from this? Obviously BCCI, more people will come in the evenings to watch it.

Bowlers Nightmare
by kishore kumar on May 19, 2011 03:45 PM

Dew will be the key factor and bowlers will find difficult to grip the ball as result it will be comlplete batsmen game and a boring game. Even spectator may visit stadium for a diffirent experience, but TRP may not be as great a day test match

Limited over Test Match
by Anand YNI on May 19, 2011 02:17 PM

How about introducing 50 over each of the two innings test matches. This way there is place for talent, skill, flamboyance and speed in scoring runs by the players. The test will be over in just two days. It can be a D/N match too!!
