IPL had to flop because most players who play there are retired and out of form fellows, few are unsuccessful in getting a berth in national team. So, it is a substandard game where entertainment like girls dancing and bands are prominent than the quality of the game. Further, if there is match everyday then people will lose interest. There were days when test matches were being played once in 4 months people used to hold their tiny radios and move around, today there is so much entertainment in TV that a substandard game like IPL had to flop. IPL is a idea of some moneymongers who wanted to capitalize on the cricket craziness of indians and they know that the fizz wont last long, so some made money and some lost. jo jeeta wohi sikandar. nobody plays cricket anymore for the interest in the game, they play for money, give more money and they play better. simple.

world cup overdose is responsible for the killing of IPL. Had it been the other way round, I mean, had the world cup been organised after the IPL, the same fate of overdose would have killed the world cup also. However it is true that this year's IPL has not given the moments to cherish. If same sluggishness continues next year also, then God knows what will be the fate of IPL.

Its so easy to sit in front of a computer and advice others to do social work. First start from your side, and even if you start it, others will find their inner voices from within to inspire them to do social work. Till then, back off and just care about your own work.
Bring back enterprising industrialist Lalit Modi,or else IPL will have a prematured death !
When nobody wanted to invest on IPL clubs,Lalit Modi convinced his friends and relatives to invest in those clubs. But later when the tournament succeeded, these BCCI thugs accused him and dethroned him.
Shashi Tharoor along with some useless BCCI people responsible for this poor condition of IPL...
Thank God for IPL now i can't wait to watch INDIA v ZIMBABWE test cricket. I will even watch Indian womens cricket. Be that as it may, this over dose of IPL is still much better than the current west-indies PAK test series. That is so boring, no crowd, no proper commentators and not even the players r interested.
1. IPL is good for younsters to show the talent. 2. Every team needs to maintain identity. Gambhir playing for KKR, Yuvi Playing for Pune, Bhajji playing for Mumbai does not help 3. Time for this event needs to be picked carefully, problem is that there is no good time on international calendar. Players like Dhoni, Zaheer and Sachin playing for IPL and skipping West Indies tour, nobody is raising an eye-brow. Money rules and who can question demi gods. But we all know, "playing for country is ultimate" is good to say and good to hear. 4. IPL schedule is too long, it is to allow too many matches to ensure BCCI and team owners have enough revenue stream from TV rights. Long schedule does not make sense for T20 event. 5. This is pure business for team owners and players, so we should just take is pure entertianment and not get emotional about which team is doing well/bad :)
