Cronje was a great man and an outstanding captain. Though people might remember him as a match fixer, it is important to note that he only took money to reveal info about team composition and decision at the toss. He didn't take money to throw matches like shameless Azharuddin who is the father of all match fixers. The traitor Azharuddin who introduced the world to match fixing doesnt have an iota of shame and has not admitted to fixing matches claiming that he has been targeted on religious grounds. Match Fixing is the gravest crime one can do in any sport. It is blatant betrayal of all fans and countrymen, akin to back-stabbing. It is as grave a crime as a politician fetching peoples votes and eating up their tax money.
I don't think Hansie Cronje deserves any praise or honour, no matter how good a player or captain he was.
