How many our `fast bowlers' have bowled above 130kms? For delhi dare devils, he has bowled consistently fast. However, he needs to be groomed than drafted in quickly.

You missed out Ambati Rayudu who is in the top 5 run getters and should have been selected in the squad for Windies tour.

ambati lacks the luck factor....otherwise who in the world can even think of selecting wridhiman saha who can't bat against quality attacks and keeps the wickets...

Rayudu anytime is a better choice as compared to saha....poor chap always get kicked

Buddy, i am amused. East zone has no influence at all nowadays. Dalmiya has no say in the BCCI. How can they have influence. Srikkanth needs to explain.

Harbhajan
by Ramdas Nayak on May 17, 2011 10:15 AM  | Hide replies

It is a pity that selectors still choose Bhajji as Indian team's no.1 bowler. If you take recent records in to consideration Harbhajan has failed to impress on any pitch as off spin bowler. 75% of his bowling action is doubtful. He hardly takes wickets (Forget IPL where even Yuvi and Gayle took many wickets)in tests and ODIs but still gets a place. India has many talented bowlers who are unfortunately sidelined to accommodate this Sardarji in the national team.

You have hit the nail-head ! There are far better spin talent available in the country. Bhajji needs to be rested and to prove again thru Ranji performance.

my dear ramdas go to sleep harbhajan is a alltime graet go and have a look at his records, by the time he finishes he will be past kumble, yes for T-20 we shd play a yougster like rahul sharma/ chawla. but bhajji is no.1 by a mile in tests and one dayers. 700 international wickets only kumble has about 900 more than bhajji. please dont talk nonsense

navdeep actually ramdas is not talking nonsense but is absolutely right. bhajji was a great bowler but his performances have significantly dropped off late. his test match av in the last couple of yrs is 42, which is almost twice as much as that of Swann (who by the way I dont think as the best spinner in the world) and ajmal (whose doosra may be the best).

In the WC, he was consistently down the wrong line, not turning the ball enough, and in a tournament where he shd have shone, yuvraj was our best spinner! what say you?

Sharma & Sarma are same. In north people prefer writing Sharma & in south they prefer Sarma. The usage of H is different in south & north.
The other examples are Shiva / Siva, Latha/Lata, Pratibha/Prathiba, Shekar, Sekhar etc..

Rahul Sharma is a good bowler but he needs to work on his variation. Otherwise he will become a unidimensional bolwer like Ojha.
