Amazing how no one credits DC for winning!
by bluesshaman on May 16, 2011 02:46 PM

I mean, it's Deccan Chargers that beat the over-hyped Mumbai team. And yet, all the whining and cribbing here is about Sachin. I think it's been proven repeatedly that Sachin is not captain material. So, let's not fight about that. Its now been shown that if Rohit Sharma and/or Rayudu are out cheaply, more often than not, any team can beat Mumbai. Sachin will score his usual 30-40 runs but the rest of the order will most likely collapse, as they have more than once. Good job, DC. You guys breathed some life into a boring tournament. I enjoyed the humbling of the MI. And their fans left the stadium in a real hurry. :) ha ha ha!

In whichever match Ali Murtaza or Dhawal Kulkarni is playing MI is losing !

In whichever match Abu Nechim is playing MI is winning !

This is a shocking co-incidence !

The IPL matches are fixed by organisers as the game had low TRP this year due to World cup then British marriage then OSama it became necessary that tourney be more competitive and interesting. So top teams started losing inexplicably to keep interest of whoever were still interested in it.So better dont tsake results too seriously as every player has big Financial stake in this TAMASHA

Orange cap

MI's defeat is because of Sachin's desperate attempt get hold of Orange cap!! Why this guy does not realize that it is beyond his reach in this edition of IPL now? Some one from his team, either his coach or his franchise owner should let him know that and ask him to play for the team and not for his individual heroics and records...I am sad that Mumbai Indians lost, but happy that a team led by Sachin is lost and that too purely because of his own agendas and selfishness!!

u r here again to criticize sachin for no reason.

yesterdays match got difficult for mumbai after loss of 3 quick wickets followed by symonds n suman departure. sachin hd to keep his wicket cz he ws the only batsman along wid pollard.
the quick fall of wickets put pressure on every team n thats what happened yesterday also.

in last match mumbai lost their wickets in order to make quick runs bt failed. so sachin tried his best to be on ground cz pollard ws yet to come. bt sachin's dismissal finished the game. any other batsman in place of sachin wud hv dn the same thing after loss of so many wickets.

You are right friend..Sachin slow scoring rate in all the matches have contributes to MI getting less totals..it is only because of the brilliance of Malinga that they still won matches..
Sachin needs to under stand couple of things;
1) He is not "God" like what his followers have led him to believe. He wants to prove this notion and wants to get as many personal records as possible, leading the teams to losses
2) He IS the worst captain the Indian team ever saw, now he is proving to be the worst captain in all editions of IPL. With the abundance of talent MI have, which is far higher than any other team, and they still being unable to win even one trophy, the blame has to squarely fall on Sachin's shoulder. Just imagine what a Dhoni or Warne would have done, if they had a team like this!!

sachin is being criticized for his slow 37 in 42 balls, which as per sherry paji led to MI's defeat. one forgets that sachin is not a slam bang batsman like gayle, sehwag, mccullum etc.his game is based on correct technique,& scoring runs @ run a ball by not indulging in too much risks. he values his wicket & does not throw away it after getting into a groove like ryder or yusuf pathan.blaming sachin for the defeat is not right, what were the others like rohit, rayyudu, suman doing.

You are right to certain extent. But on the other hand, Sachin is the highest run getter for MI with strike rate liitle over 100. That means the team is going to score some where beween 130 to 140 which is not a defendable total. The main reason why MI got so many wins are mainly because of Malinga and not because of MI batting.

Sachin needs to improve his strike rate if his team wants to win consistantly. You need slambang cricket with your traditional stroke play for T20.

Sachin may not be cpable of strike rate of 200 like gyle, pollard etc but still can easily manage strike rate of 140-150 with his abilty.
T-20 century is a clear example of it.
Last year hsi strike rate was very healthy 134 even after scoring max runs.
Problem this time with MI is not a suitable opening partner for sachin. Every match they lost opener thomas/bizzard very quickly & then sachin has to curb his game. he knows how dependent MI is on his baating.
Though he has success early on this tournament keeping his wicket intact & other batsman tahking advantage & scoring qucikly.
Fact remains he value his wicket & hw knows when he plays for any team whether its India, or Mumbai or MI all teams depend heavily on him & 80% of win script is written based on his good early start.
I still hope MI will come back strongly & do better
