Agarkar for ODI, he is useful. earlier people criticize him for giving too many runs but nowdays when every other bowler is costlier then he is much better because he is good fielder and good batsman too

if they can give a chance to all the other bowlers why not ajit agarkar...? he too deserve a chance now... agarka is a fighter all the way and once upon a time he was a blue eyed boy of Indian cricket with lots of promise..

haha, some times Sehwag also same know, Yusuf atleast can bowl for 6 to 7 overs also.But surely on his own day he will be more dangerous than sehwag.

R Uthappa... he's done well in this role in the past... vaise,to,Viru is irreplaceable... but ... Uthappa stands out amongst the others listed.

Lets talk abt some Batsment(in case of unavailability of Sachin, Sehwag and Dhoni..also not to forget in a 15 or 16 member squad we need at least 7-8 Batsmen or 2-3 all rounders...we cant play with those regular 5-6 Batsmen...we must have back ups)
1. Gambhir 2. Kohli 3. Yuvraj 4. Rayudu 5. Raina 6. Badrinath 7. M. Tiwary 8. Y or I Pathan 9. Valthaty or R Jadeja(I Hate Jadeja although..but he is performing well and also dependable NOW at Batting No. 6 or 7)
Now some Bowlers(In case of unavailability of Zaheer, Nehera or Munaf)not to forget...in WI we need few good Fast Bowlers rather than Spinners...
10. Ishant Sharma 11. P Kumar 12. RP Singh or Srishanth 13. S Arvind or Vinay Kumar or Y Nagar or U Yadav 14. Harbhajan 15. R Ashwin 16. Abdullah or R Sharma

FOr me...Utthappa and Vijay are not worth Relying...they may be Good Hitters...but they can't stand for 5-10 overs...also they cant win you matches..they are good in T20s...not 50-50s as per their current Form...I cant Understand..why people are running after M Vijay...I think Valthaty or Tiwary are far better than him...Responsible and Dependable as well...not to forget..its WI not India...we need some Batsmen who can face those Tall...Fast Monsters there...I doubt whether Y Pathan will fit in or not...

I think at least some seniors must be rested for the useless ODI series (India is the world champs, they need to show that even without some seniors also, they can brush aside the lowly WI in ODIs)...all the seniors must be fresh and ready to fire in the Test series as India have hardly done well there. In the ODIs, apart fromSehwag's obvious injury-related omission, Sachin, Dhoni, Harbhazan, and Zaheer need to be rested. In place of Sehwag and Sachin, we should have Badrinath (a much improved attacking batsman now) and Paul Valthaty (the guy is in the form of his life and seems to have a sound technique suited for limited overs cricket at least), in place of Harbhajan and Zaheer, we should have Rahul Sharma (he will generate disconcerting bounce becoz of his height and form a lethal combination with Ashwin...and both can bat too) and Ishant Sharma or Srinath Aravind (I would prefer Aravind as he is in form and Ishant can play in the test series, anyway)...the most important thing is somehow persuade / force Dhoni to sit out of the ODI series. Dhoni may be a good enough captain, but seems to be very insecure about his place even now. How many times have we seen him sitting out in long-drawn series and useless ODIs? He's afraid someone might come up and keep better than him and score runs. This is the reason he used to keep wickets even in the matches Dinesh Kartik (a better WK) used to play. The selectors need to make this difficult choice for him. But knowing Dhoni, I doub
