If comparisons are to be made, the basis has to be proper.
For example, one cannot compare the batting statistics of a player like Badrinath of CSK with that of Chris Gayle of RCB, for the simple reason that while Gayle as opener has a theoretical chance of batting the full 20 overs, Badrinath is a middle order batsmen who gets to bat a few balls or at best a few overs.
So, it is good to compare the batting of players like Virender Sehwag, Chris Gayle, Sachin Tendulkar, Paul Valthaty, Dilshan, J Kallis etc. since all of them open the innings for their respective team.

dude first understand the situation in which he played... he single handedly took the match away from opposition... even if he had played in the similar position as that of bhadrinath he would have achieved the same feat...
