when you buy the players in auction eg Rohit Sharma for US$2.1m, etc who are they buying the players from, who are auctioning them. BCCI or respective boards of countries?
Rs 15.42 crore loss is equivalent to 0.1% to a 27 billion dollar company. This is nothing but a pocket change to RIL. Real intention is something else.
The simple Logic is if the company shows profit without any real activity then u can convincingly say they may have converted black money into white. But if the company shows loss without again any real activity u can say they converted white money into black. I hope this simple mantra helps you all and dont get confused with confusing numbers and conclude whatever you want . Si in case if any conversion has happened then as the company i sshowing loss it can be safely assumed that they converted white money into black. But taking RIL's size into consideration i dont think they di dit that way. Iam sure they would do such transactions in high profile entities like IPL Franchisee. Anyway they disclosed this figures and not any other franchisee because of requiremnents of IFRS ( International Financial Reporting Standards) norms which listed companies have to follow in first phase. Hope this info is helpful to you all.

Those who criticize SRT are paid by some interested parties. Otherwise for all Indians, SRT is a household name.

Great to know you dont do anythink of critical importance for the country , game or for your employer. Your sense of judgement and the appaling lack of intellectual ability would have been the real loss if that were the case. You should be happy though . As they say - only the greatest fool is the happiest person on earth. You are close to being one Mr Mang.

Folks,
you are straying away from the topic here.... Team P&L has nothing to do with the cricketers ... its puerly business ...... did you see the full P&L before commenting .... reasons for loss could be business related not linked to the players

@ Prasanna How many 100's of Sachin has caused india a defeat, Mr. Prassana? Could you please give us some valuable information on this? What I know about his 100's is that his 33 out of 48 ODI 100's have won India matches, 1 tie and 1 washed out..so 13 in lost cause effectively! In tests, 20 won, 11 loss and 20 in draw matches! Prove it if i'm wrong! And..if you score 175 in an ODI matche and still find yourself in a losing team.I don't thing it's your fault!

could you please let me know what his fourth Innings average? How many centuries he scored in 4th Innings?

yup...it's 39 in 4th innings of a test match! He has scored 3 100's in 4th match innings! I think a batsman having an overall avg of 39 is considered a good one!

am sorry mr naveen. I guess ur stats r wrong. Infact sachin's second innings average in test matche is even more. Its close to 45 in the second innings and around 57 in the first.
This seems more like a ploy to make black money white.. the way the Karunanidhi family does with its bunch of movie production houses, where every movie is always a loss.

i suppose sachin also has a healthy cut in it. he actually wanted at first to buy MI team. but according to ipl rules a player cannot own a team. so that was disappointment for sachin. but he took help of ambani and ambani acting as a proxy or dummy owner instead of sachin.

I fail to understand how black turns white, i invest 100 rs of black money in a project, where 50 is white and 50 is black. film revenue is 150, i disclose to govt that fim revenue is 50. I still have black 100???
Re: Re: Loss?
by vijay wagh on May 11, 2011 12:02 PM
They invest only 100 (50 black n 50 white) but shows false inflated investement of 150(esp Foreign expenses which is diff to check for IT) than shows profit of 100...so loss of 50 so no tax needs to be paid n black become white....audit golmaal
Re: Re: Loss?
by senthil vel on May 11, 2011 12:04 PM
@ Krazy, suppose you have 50 Rs as black money and 100 Rs as white ,you invest this 100 50 but claim you had invested 100 Rs .then gain 300 Rs out of it in actual, but you pretend you have gained 250.this is what Karuna and fly does.

Again, I know that chartered accountants can spin a web on the taxman. Going by your logic, the 50 black remains as 50 black

by chetanhbk on May 11, 2011 01:23 PM
It is not like that. I have 50Rs white and 50Rs black. Invest only 50Rs white and get 100Rs as profit. But show the gov that 150Rs is profit
One, IPL team helps in promoting their brand and two, if they merely cut down on after night IPL parties, they would easily break-even. Nothing to worry about.
