RR have their limitations. As it is because of the inspired captaincy of Shane Warne the young side is already performing much above their potential but there is always a limit to performance above potential which motivation or inspiration can achieve. The 'pitch' controversy it seems has been generated deliberately by RR mgt. to serve as an excuse for the 'defeat' which was certain considering that CSK is a much better side. Both the sides are playing on the same pitch and if anything RR got the advantage of winning the Toss which Warne should have used to bat first. But why didn't he do it ? No, excuses please.Let us see how RR perform in their remaing 3 matches. That should lay to rest the 'pitch' controversy.
Well played Chennai mates, but keep wining... to continue the momentum. Still play-off berth is not 100% sure. I don't know how CSK is performing exceptionally well when their situation is do or die. It is Miraculous, isn't it? CSK-Ku Whistle Podu.
If the situation is very good Dhoni promotes himself to show the advertisements for his sponsors, In the last match against when the batsmen were struggling he sent in Badrinath and promoted Morkel to face the music. Captains,s advantage!

Atleast that is sensible cricket, though I dont agree with you, he promoted himself for a crucial match, the final, in the world cup and suceeded, if he had failed and the team also he would have had to face the ire of the entire country, but he took the risk, thats great.

Will you sachin fan boys ever get over this argument which has been proven plain stupid. Sachin failed in WC finals. Get over it.

Dhoni generally bats at No. 7, and he himself took charge in World Cup Final when the team looked in deep trouble after Tendulkar once again failed. It was a very brave decision by Dhoni that led to victory (also lucky that Sangakkara missed his stumping and catches :-))
Anyway, Dhoni keeps on experimenting and taking calulated risks that increases his probability of success for his team. Not an easy job to do. Full credit to him.

Sensible praise by Siva Kumar for the sensible ways of Dhoni.
Dhoni is not a selfish guy who calculates his landmarks like fifties and hundreds. Though he would be glad to create and break records, team interests come first to him. How can the less intellectually gifted understand this?
This way. Dhoni knows his limitations. He is fully aware that he is not one of those technically sound or correct batsmen in the mould of Sunil Gavaskar, Sanjay Manjrekar, Sachin Tendulkar or Rahul Dravid. So what he does is, boosts the chances of his team win with higher scores when the going is good by promoting himself and prevent more serious damage to his team when the going is grave by sending better batsmen than himself, like Raina, Badrinath etc.
In yesterday's match, had he experimented by promoting Bravo (playing his first IPL match of this season) or sending Badrinath in a routine way, CSK might have ended up with a lesser total. Though I do not think of Badrinath now-a-days as a strokeless wonder, it is difficult to visualise him making 41 runs from 19 balls.
Someone can research the inclinations and decisions of Dhoni and could be benefitted with a thesis on leadership.
