f Sehwag doesn't bat in bookish style and has a unique style will u ban him bcoz of that? The fact is Malinga has tremendous fitness, the wit and skill to transfer his whole momentum into his deliveries - which no other bowlers could have done before. Unconventional is one thing, Illegal is quite another.

Unconventional is one thing, Illegal is quite another. Secondly don't express your feeling as the rules of cricket. Learn the rules. 1) Legally a bowler can straighten his arm (or in other words bend his elbow) by up to 15 degrees while delivering. Malinga's elbow is almost straight (below 5 degrees) straighter than most of the good bowlers like Zaheer, Steyn etc. 2) Legally the bowler's arm should be equal to or above the shoulder level in the delivery swing. Though Malinga has a relatively low round arm action it is always above the shoulder level when he bowls. Now how can he be called a Chucker? The problem is not Malinga. The problem is everyone in India thinks of himself as a cricket expert just bcoz they watch a lot of cricket on TV. But no one tries to know the rules.

@ Deep Daas: If you do not think yourself as cricket expert could you please tell us where you got the above information?
Whatever his value, to me Malinga will always be a chucker. And to those who say my opinion doesn't amount to much, let me state there are many, many more who believe as I do. While Shoaib Akhtar chucked occasionally, this guy chucks all the time!
No, I don't blame Tendulkar for choosing him. I blame the ICC, and also the BCCI which has used its inordinate clout to support the SLCC in perpetrating such fraud by changing the rules.

It clearly shows ur lack of cricketing knowledge. 2 reasons why is can't be called a chucker: 1) Bcuz his elbow is so straight, its straighter than most of the good bowlers like Steyn, Brett, or Mc Grath. So there is no wasy u can call him a chucker for this. 2) Next his arm is above the shoulder level when he bowls, which is legal again. If it goes below shoulder level then it is illegal. So cant' call him a chucker at all. He is really good. U think the whole cricketing board is brainless to allow a bowler who chucks or the commentators are useless sitting & praising him? He is such a good bowler. Thats why u shud listen to commentaries from experts on TVs or & not just sit & comment unnecessarily. U could have at least searched on Google & found out about Legal deliveries & what is chucking before posting such comments.

Sunder Lal:
World had seen many pole vaulters.. . in fact hundreds of them... yet none was like Sergei Bubka... Did it add up? :)
And if you think that bowling like Malinga is really easy, then try it some day... you'll probably be less accurate than what Malinga himself was 4 years back... It needs a lot of control to bowl with the action that he has...
