KXIP HAVE POTENTIAL TO BEAT MI
by damodaran mohan on May 02, 2011 02:30 PM

Playing after a break of nearly a week the Punjabs looked rusty and actually they never got going against KKR.They are much better side than what we saw of them in the last match.Their batting should come good sooner than later given the quality they have.Bowling appears to be main concern because the two Indian capped players ---Praveen kumar and Piyush Chawla are giving pathetic performance.P/Kumar's bowling looks very ordinary and threre is no 'movement' which is is hallmark. About Piyush Chawla, less said the better because leave aside bowling, even the older and much seniors in IPL seem to be fielding with greater agility than this young man.How long is he going to be just the 'lucky charm' for his side? The other young spinner appears to be much better and capable of taking wickets.Gili has to use his resources properly and he should bear in mind that among the big teams, it is he MI which have the most vulnerable batting line up which can fold up like a pack of cards against good bowling if Rohit Sharma can be got out cheaply.Punjabs if they play to their potential can beat MI.

Don't blame it on Mahela

He can only pick a team from the resources available to him.Unfortunately the bowling attack that the kochi team has, is basically an indian one and that is the one department where indian national team struggles. So that means the KTK bowling is obviously average. They could have tried the other way around by picking a batting line up that is an indian like one and foreign bowlers should have formed the nucleus of KTK attack.

CSK, KKR and MI have almost made it to the SF's
by Rajan S on May 01, 2011 03:56 PM  | Hide replies

From a neutral point of view , i think MI, CSK and KKR will make it to the semifinals and one spot is still yet to be fixed. It may be RCB or Kings XI. I think this time KKR will face CSK in final. KKR can win it if they can keep their nerves but CSK has the experience of playing in big matches. So they will start as favourites.. For MI, I doubt their ability to play knockout matches and they may choke during the big games

KKR beating CSK in Chennai in the final? I wont bet for that to happen. This time the final is going to be in Chennai, and if Chennai make it to the final, they will be huge favorites.
