Difficult wicket to bat on
by d s on Mar 31, 2011 01:11 PM

The pitch at Mohali was a very tricky one and Indians shud feel lucky to bat first on it. Any team would have struggled to bat on it. Even Sachin struggled.

I congratulate the Indian team and all my country men for this great victory where everybody contributed and the victory cannot be attributed to any single individual. THIS WAS TRULY A TEAM EFFORT.

All the very best for the grand finale at Mumbai against the Lankans.

PM should sit beside KASAB this time
by Vimalesh singh on Mar 31, 2011 12:57 PM  | Hide replies

I just want to ask our respected PM that why he was sitting besides Pakistan PM Gilani only! He should have invited dignitaries like Hafiz Saeed, Masood Azhar, Azmal Kasab, Afzal guru also. They are also hero of Pakistan and their respected countrymen !

SACHIN'S WORST INNINGS
by vinod nair on Mar 31, 2011 11:34 AM  | Hide replies

By and large this was the worst innings of Sachin...snicks dropped catches...very uncharacteristic. The sardar was jumping when he got Afridi for a full toss. God forbid it didn't go for a six. main strike spinner wicketless. cld see pressure on his face...lanka is not going to be easy...taqkeit from me

even i was thinking the same yesterday nyt !
when bhajji was jumping and celebrating on takin a wicket of afridi off a full toss !!
as if he had delevered a beauty ..

Bhajji was lucky . afridi didnt middle it ! or else the bal would have crossed the stadium ! and he wouldnt have seen that ball again

It was a celebration of taking crucial wicket, as Afridi could have changed the course of game in few overs... I do not think it should be linked with good delivery bowled or bad.
:)- after all that was a beauty, what mattered was how soon the wicket was taken.

You idiots. If you play a much under unimaginable amounts of pressure and your team is getting closer to victory because a dangerous batsman got out you surely will be happy.

It had nothing to do with if he got the wicket or someone else or if it was a beauty or a poor ball. For a very good bowl you had to see the wicket of Umar Akmal who was threatening to take game away from India.
You people are just armchair critics.

Agree. These are a bunch of idiots. Last match(against Aus) Kohli was out on a fulltoss.
But no one remembers that.

True. We need lots of work in the bowling department. Nehra came back much better though.

Kirsten - One of the finest coach ..
by response query on Mar 31, 2011 11:34 AM

Kirsten - One of the finest coach India ever had. as rediff said quiet backroom man monitoring things meticulously..less talk and delivered more unlike the Guru great CHAPPAL. Truly professional, a great batsman for SA in past and good human being.. May be he throws some sort of his brilliance to SA in coming days as a coach...
Best of Luck for his future...

How India will tackle two Javlin throwers in the Final?

How India will tackle two Javlin throwers in the Final?
ICC became dead body. If Murli and Melinga allowed to bowl,
just because of a vote of Srilanka for Sarad Pawar for his Presidency, then
Its is pathetic cricket.
No bowlers in the Universe should be named as chucker since Murli and Melinga have been
allowed to bowl.

I still wonder, how malinga is allowed to bowl with that sling-action, as he literally delivers from front o Umpire's Chest... In the 1st Semi-final, Nathan Macullam asked umpire to remove his cap as he could not sight the ball when Malinga was bowling.
If he was taller, though he bowls from over the wicket, the delivery-point would have been from 'around the sticks'..

How cum you cannot digest One moron in Indian team wen there are eleven in sri Lankan team...Further Malinga cannot be compared with Srinath as he is only a Javelin Bowler and srinath was a complete bowler and a handy lower down batsman...stop being a moron...

Dude, r u crazy to compare Srinath with Malinga!? he was the only fast bowler we had till Zaheer came to team. He played for India for 14 years and gave everything he can. One of the great cricketer India has produced. Yorkers can't win matches, its overall brilliance. Sri, was a good with bat too..have some sense while u post

with good slip fielders, Srinath would have easily bagged another 50 wickets... I have seen many times our slip fielders dropping cathes in his bowling.

sri was a good indian bowler but certainly not the great cricket has ever seen even during the 90s... India just cudnt produce a quality fast bowler as compared to other teams who always had able replacements in bowling department... as far as sri with bat is concerned, he wasnt a batsman one bit... just that on his day he was just about ok... but yaa, he was definitely a better bowler than V. Prasad...

Murli and Malinga are one of the best bowlers in today's era... ICC is not blind enough to allow chucking... stop saying that... the people in power are not fools who dont know ABC about the game... they surely know the rules and can do a better job than us sitting in front of the idiot box and criticise just for the sake of critizing.. and yaa had these two bowlers played for india half the indian foul mouths wud be shut and be supporting them... so please stop making stupid comments support the indian team (if you are supporting them i.e.)... cuz that is what they need right now from us to lift the cup...
