Yeah obivious Ricky Ponting is a Great Player and a Great Captian.He won the WC 3 times. Earlier he had a good players with him whose skills were amazing.Now the recent players lack that skills. Even in the last match he showed his flavour by scoring 100. Yeah I agree that he is not good in some aspect of his habit.But virtually you cant consider them. He has good LEADERSHIP skills with which he can make the team better before he RESIGNS from Intl Cricket.CLARK is still young when compared to Captiancy is concerned. Now he will be tested with his captiancy skills.

Ricky was lucky to have the team with players like McGrath, Shane Warne, Gilchrist, Hyden, Beven, and Lee etc. under his captaincy. All of these put together (except Beven most of them played mostly together) made a dream team which undisputadely ruled the international cricket. These players started retiring one-by-one and the australian cricket found it very difficult to replace them with same talent. The success of last 15 yrs of dominance goes to the australian team and not just one person. Ponting was lucky to be a captain of such team so was the case of Buchanan. Some thought he was the greatest coach ever. I don't think australia will in near future ever come close to what they have achieved in last decade and a half.

same goes for Akram a dicy team peaked at world cup and remained a force
how many stars did he create he removed symonds he destroyed hussy yes and many more a captain make ordinary players as stars and not the reverse
