why on earth is ponting a bloody aussie evoking so many positive response in an Indian website, I wonder !!! If ponting goes, good for world cricket [excepting Aus] and good for Indian Cricket.. If he does not then even better :)...
Australians were a mighty team with not so fast but accurate bowlers like Mcgrath and fleming and others because they were good at sledging. All the 11 players would talk something or the other to the batsmen to break their consentration and hit wild shots and get themselves out. But now, after few other teams have taken over that and do better sledging than the Ausies, they are not able to perform to that extent. So, just dont blame Ponting for the loss in this world cup and the recent performances against other nations.

Australia has won all the worldcups whenever Buckner was umpiring this time he was not there to help Ponting therefore it is time for Australian s to find any Bucker in the ICC panel of upires rather than wasting time to search for new playrs or good captains

Sachin ramesh tendulkar you are right to take retirement with your own choice.Your achievement in captaincy is better then all cricket world captain.Cricket australia did not ignore it. This is cricket australia not bcci who forced kumble and sourav chandidas ganguly to take retirement as planning.

dude ponting has won two worldcups for his team still he is been criticized he is one of the best captains any team would ever had thats another thing his ruling period is over but he definetly needs apriciation for his wonderful work and hounarable RETIREMENT

pal ganguly would have won two world cups if he had warne, mcgrath, fleming, and gillespie, hayden, gilly. Think about our ganguly...he had the world's worst fielder in the name of kumble, but then he managed to reach the semis in the 2003
ponting may not b in the best of forms,his team may not be as incredible as before,but i know one thing dat yhis man has lead his side consistently to win,scored consistently.In such a long carrer who will have ups and downs,but if we look at his full carrer there has been very few lows.I m not a fan of ponting coz of his arrogant behaviour but if you look from cricketing view he will be remebered as one of the gr8s of the game

absolutely...he had scored runs...he has kept the team intact...they were a good team, now the time has changed...number 1 spot is up for grabs...anybody can grab that spot...the way the srilankans are playing I think they have a very good chance.
