Ponting's Character
by Elayaraja Muthuswamy on Mar 26, 2011 12:00 PM

Hi Abhishek and team,
India deserved their victory for their fighting performace against Aussies. However, in my opinion it is wrong on your side to point out that Australia and Ponting deserved it. Show some respect to Ponting for all his achievements. There is no need to character to talk about his character when you report on the match results. He is the most decorated player in International Cricket History. He has 3 world cup medals, 2 champions trophy medals to add to the 250 ODI wins and 99 test wins. Cricket is a team game and individual achievements stand next to team glory and he is number one on that chart.
M. Elayaraja.

Coincidence
by Kaale Chickne on Mar 26, 2011 11:52 AM

All said, there is a remarkable coincidence that whenever Sachin makes a centrury India loses. This happened in the lase match agaisnt SA also.Hence let us wait for sachin's century some other time. Not in this world cup.

I watch your episodes regularly just to get a different perspective but to say that I was shocked after your current one is an understatement. Abhishek you say you were happy Ponting got what he deserved! Please for God & Heaven's sake this is sport & you need personalities like Ponting to make watching sport enjoyable. So what if he is arrogant. That is entirely his problem. We need to see how that man has delivered for his country time & again. He has shown the world what a class act he is & in one sentence you have felled a genius. Though I was ecstatic that India won I did feel a tinge of remorse when Ponting lost the plot but that was purely for this great cricketer. Remember I am refraining from using the word "sportsman" for Ponting as I feel he needs to do a lot more in promoting the cause of cricket which he clearly has not thanks largely to his outlandish behavior. But let us not forget that it is people like Ponting who make this game enjoyable & a treat to watch because of their skills. And that is what we truly admire & not the jingoism that is displayed on these boards & now sadly promoted by you chaps. My humble request is please be objective in reporting & don't play to the galleries only.

Inzy,
If a Man behaves like an animal,he is an animal at heart and whatever he does becomes secondary because he has degraded the humaness of bieng a human bieng. This man called Ricky Ponting has done preciousy that and people defending him are likewise of similar nature. If you wish to watch a human behave like an animal and enjoy watching him then there is seriously something wrong with you.

Dilip Mahanty
Tendulkar
by Dilip Mahanty on Mar 26, 2011 06:48 AM  | Hide replies

Manu & Abhishek, when you read out emails of people making ridiculous , ill informed comments about Tendulkar why don't you two try to correct them instead of making them look like "oracles"! For example someone stated that Tendulkar scores runs against easy opposition in helpfull conditions. You gleefully read this out.Isn't it a fact that Tendulkar has got more Test centuries OUTSIDE India? Isn't it a fact that Tendulkar has scored more centuries against Australia(11) (including 6 in Australia) than against any other country?Isn't it a fact that almost 70% of the time Tendulkar scores a century India either wins or gets out of a sticky situation? If he has scored 99 international centuries it stands to logic that almost 70 times he has either got the country over the line or prevented opposition winning!Which other batsman has done it to that extent if that is the only criteria for success? Some pygmies, who have achieved nothing in life, chuck stones at Tendulkar because of their own shortcomings and envy. You should ignore publicising such worthless comments and correct these ignorant critics of Tendulkar?
