munaf is only a club level bowler. His presence will give confidents only for opponents.nehra is unfit. In the recent games munaf & nehra didnt bowl their full quota.both are not good in fielding &batting. Why didnt dhoni try for sreesanth ????

Even when Nehra is fit what does he realy do ??? I can only remember one good spell from him in 2003 worldcup. That too in Eng on a rainy day on a quick wicket

Indian victory is ineviatble
by Gurjot Singh on Mar 25, 2011 09:26 PM  | Hide replies

There is no way this Indian team can lose to Pakistan. If Sehwag and Sachin are gone in first 5 overs then and only then Pakistan will have a slim chance. Indian batting line up is too strong for any team. More over Moahli has a dead pitch that will undoubtedly help Indian batting line up to pile up a score of 300 plus. this Pakistani team cannot expect to score more than 270.
With SA losing to NZ, Dhoni lifting the cup at Wankhede is ineviatable.

ahmad winning or losing is not necessarily what makes a good captain. Yes losing can make you a bad captain if you have the resources and dont work them well.

Totally agree with varun. Having Mcgrath, warne, gillespie/lee, hayden, gilchrist and symonds in your team, evan a blind beggar can win lots of matches.
Whereas look at dhoni-no performance from bowlers or vettori-no performance from batsmen.... now those are great leaders.

I wont agree He utilized resources very well . Dont forget for last 2 world cups before started india also considered to be favorite. India had dravid, tendular , youvraj, sachin , ganguly , sehwag etc ..
Only difference between ricky ponting team and india team indians individually received lot of records but australia as a team received awards.

Indian

I am apprehensive of india's chance this world cup.

if they continue in the same vein as the aussie match, then maybe it might be possible.

Else it looks kind of tough

SL , SA and Porkis are playing excellent cricket at the momment :(

pakis have a batting lineup that will crumble.
there is only one man who could help their cause-umar gul. Even he might not be good enough.
whereas it looks like SA are choking right now. Wont see them in the SF.

Pak Batting might be tender , but Bowlers win matches.

Pak Bowling seems to be way ahead of India at the moment.

Afridi is leading the pack in terms of wickets at the moment

Gul seems to be doing as well as zaheer

The support bowlers seem to be doing their job as well.

They haven't conceded more than 250 runs more than once

PELE now remains the most succesful captain in team sports ever.
by Ramachandran Pranadhartiharan on Mar 25, 2011 04:55 PM  | Hide replies

Ricky Ponting played this world cup as Oz captain, just for 1 reason- To equal Pele's record as winning captain of 4 World cup teams.Although Ponting & Pele played 2 completely different sports, yet both cricket and soccer r team games. If Ponting had won his 4th cricket world cup this year in 2011 as Oz captain, then both Pele and Ricky "The Punter" Thomas Ponting would have gone down in the history of team sports as the most succesful team captains ever. However that was not to be as in the history of team sports, there was, there is and there shall be only 1 Kohinoor which is black in color and the name of this Kohinoor is PELE.

Really, sameer! Is that true ? If Ricky Ponting has lead Oz to only 2 WC cricket glories till date, then how can he be then compared to the great PELE ? It means that Ricky is only half as good as PELE.
