I hate to predict since yesterday it took a mighty beating. But on second thoughts there will be no surprises today and SriLanka will win. SriLanka are the better side and England has totally fallen apart into pieces. England are depressed and they cannot withstand SriLanka on their home turf. And although before the WC they looked like a really good team they have to now depend on their second string players. Their batting has shown no signs of form after the India game , and of course their bowling is in even worse shape. Andersson is out of form and their best bowler Broad is out. They dont have any kind of spin attack apart from Swann. SriLanka are on top form and their batting is gathering strength around superSangakkara. Their spinners are irresistible and every bowler is good. They dont choke like SAfrica and England has to outplay them, which I see no chances of theoretically. SriLanka will win today.

No body commenting about the brilliant fielding and bowling shown by Newzealand. The runout of Devilliers was crucial. Cricket is a game that players have to keep their cool. India won the match keeping it simple and not being panic against Australia. South Africa couldn't and lost the match. Good play by Newzealand. Congrats NZ

The Kiwi cricket needed this. They were beaten on all fronts. NewZealand's entry to semis on back of the perennial chokers is unfortunate in the context of the tournament as it ensures SriLanka's easy passage to the final. England and NZ are relatively weak and against a strong determined SriLanka they dont have any chances.
though theyre unpredictable. i dont expect big things from pakistan. a big innings from viru is expected. i hope india wins the toss and elects to bat. the pakistan bowling is no big shakes. a) india have to concentrate on those singles and twos gambhir and kohli are great at doing that b) finish off the innings well. the tail should have a sting. set a target of 300 c) zaheer and munaf should not concede much in the first 10 overs d) very crucial frustrate pakistan not let them take easy ones and twos inner fielding should be very sharp. let them go for beig hits. e) get max from zaheer bhajji and ashwin f)rotate your bowlers as effectively as possible- the way it was done against australia. g) always set the temp whether its batting or bowling. dont let the game drift like the way it did against south africa

Believe it is matter of handling pressure on that day. It will be huge battle between good bowling and good batting.

Both teams are equally skilled. India is a bit more skilled in batting, Pakistanis in bowling. Whoever holds his nerves better wins. Do not underestimate Pakistani batting or bowling. They can bat down till no 8, so Indians need to field like the Kiwis yesterday. And their bowlers are no cakewalk - they have been performed extremely well in this tournament. So no complacence please.
Now it will be easy for India to beat New Zealand in the final and lift the world cup..except Afridi,inexperience of other Pakistani players and out of for Razzak and Younis Khan will add to Pakistan's misery.It is good for India that there is no Salman Butt or Shoaib Malik or Inzi !
I see a New Zealand England semi-final as there is possibility of Srilanka choking unless Dilshan,Murali and Sangakkara delivers.
England has a line of stars including Swann,Anderson,Bresnen,Strauss,Trott,etc.Incase England sails thru,Southee and all-rounders Oram,Styris and batsman M'Cullam,Ryder and Ross will ensure that New Zealand defeats England.

Australia and South Africa like Brazil and Argentina knocked out in quaters, Pretournament favrits India Like Spain struggled intially bt in Semis.. Spain met Arch rivals Germany, India Meet Pakistan.. lets hope it continues and Spain won..

Consider any football WC,Hardly 15 countries are top teams rest are minnows. Check last 30 years, how many countries won WC or make to the semi apart from few handful teams whom you know from the beginning tht they will reach.
And, for ur little brain, Germany is not arch rival of Eng. U stupid, Argentina is the arch rival of Eng. Check ur knowlegde first.

wow you know nothing about soccer. 15 teams are allowed to play in world cup, and about 200 teams are eliminated in group stages. The world cup qualifiers run for about 1.5 years before the cup!
Argentina is rival of england?? at least google it man... argentina-spain and england-germany are biggest football rivalries.

OS - SriLanka will win today. There are no chances that this mentally drained totally depleted English side will beat a peaking SriLanka on their home turf. No other side is capable of choke like our trusted SouthAfricans.
It is sad to see SA leaving empty handed one more time, very balanced side in the tournament but came to old self of choking in crucial knowout match(second time in the tournament against NZ first being the England).

i agree. SA destroyed india in SA ODI series played in ODI. It was so obvious they lost the 2 matches by fixing... and then played their natural self to humiliate india and winning 3-2

Comes from a dedicated SA supporter who has no idea of the role of pitches in ODI. SA can beat Ind in SA but here in Ind the fate changes. No doubt the conditions are same in both nations,but they make seaming track and Ind prefers turning and slow track. So SA beating Ind was an upset(thanks to the indian middle order).Dont think they deserve that win.

Srilanka batting mainly around success of Sanga and MAhela. If both fail today then you know the result. MAlinga is not a good bowler apart from a great bowler who can throw and called it as bowl. His performance in this WC is as bad as any Indian bowler part from Zahir and Yuvi. Let's see who wins today
