CRICKET is INDIA. No matter what the age is, from children to oldies play cricket here.
No other place in this world would have been better for the world cup. World cup in India, plenty of support for team INDIA, thousands watching live & moreover, every team having a chance to visit INDIA & enjoy its culture, tradition & especially Indian food. All the teams across the world love to visit INDIA.
In last two matches you may notice that whenever our Captain Mr.Dhoni struggles to take a single Run from his bat in the same time in between the over the advertisment showing that the great HELICOPTER SHOT from Dhoni's bat. What a joke from PEPSI.Cool.
Who wants to view or listen to the disgusting commercials every 6 balls, repeating endlessly. There should be a limit to such ads. It is better to watch the highlights later and get the gist of it rather than sit through hours of mindless ads.

On ESPN HD telecast, there is no commercial at all throughout the entire match. But then one has to have an HD provision.Try it. It is far better than watching these nerve-recking commercials though.

Obnoxious ads repeating ad nauseum turns me off cricket, even if it is India playing. I would rather watch European football matches where, thankfully, at least for 45 minutes there are no commercials.
I live in Colombo, and I see these cut outs everyday on my way to work. There is nothing exceptional about them, rather hardly anybody notice them. Yes, cricket is a major sports in Sri Lanka, but remember that is the only sport which they play international, in a big way. So naturally they are mad about it. Sri Lanka is a small nation with very little population and they have space to accommodate such cut outs and hoardings as they are not entirely commercialised like Indian cities. Plus, government here sponsors mos of the hoardings and they dont make money like Indian private companies do in India.
