Who is a Doug Walters to comment on Ricky Ponting? The fellow himself was no sucker for cricketing ethics, when he deserted Australian Cricket in the 70s just to make a few extra dollars with Kerry Packer. Besides, it is hard to understand, where Ricky was at fault. He clearly called for the catch and Smith accordingly should have given way. Instead, he still went for the catch and almost collided with his Captain. Anybody as such, would have lost his temper as the catch could so easily have been floored in the event of a collision.

Doug Walters is an Australian Cricket legend, a man who was considered a shrewd cricket brain in his time and was also a attacking batsman with a fine record in Tests. What he says is in a way correct, Ricky has been a captain for a long time now and its time he hands over the baton to someone else and just focus on batting for the remaining part of his cricket years.

Pointing is like dog's tail.Australia may be proud of him but not the cricket lovers. As a very senior cricketer and responsible captain he should have realised while damaging TV,that,he is in India not in his county/home.BCCI has not acted in the National Interest. He should have been booked and penalised suitably,at least 2 hours arrest in Court.Respect for BCCI supremo is already diminishing fast and with no appropriate action as above,he has become a zero in many minds, surely.
