This is what Kumble wanted to address
by explorer on Mar 19, 2011 10:48 AM

Kumble proposed to coach the emerging players on shaping up their careers and BCCI accepted.
If we look at many great cricketers like Gavaskar, Tendulkar and Ravi Shastri apart from the contributions they also shaped up their careers in terms of Soft aspects. And thats the reason why they extended the stay in the area of their choice.
Where as there are a few like Ganguly, SV, Vinod Kambli who spoiled the best opportunities to stay at top.
Even today we have players like Gambhir, Sreesanth, Harbhajan and Yuvraj who need to avoid success going on to the heads and skipping the home work. They need to learn from the likes of Laxman, Tendulkar and Dravid.

Mercurial wicket keeper
by Rationalist on Mar 18, 2011 07:09 PM

Sadanand is the best wicket keeper I have ever seen. He was simply electric and mercurial behind the stumps. He made even wicket keeping look interesting. Alas he could not keep his head on shoulders and lost his way in between and the world could not see how beautiful wicket keeping can be.

would have become all time great wicket keeper for India and would have been a good batsman for India down the order. But very sadly as said his misdoings in life and love for bottle have cut short his illustrated career. Hope young cricketers such as Rohit Sharma, Yuvraj and Sreeshanth would learn a lesson or two from the fate of this talented player.

Till to date I was wondering where this superb player disappeared from the cricketing arena. People who've seen SV's heroics on field never ever able to forget this gifted player. Honestly I don't get words for his enormous contribution to the game. Champions trophy under Sunny that India won, never would me erased from the memory of cricket fan and in that the valuable contribution of SV also. Thanks to the writer for such a nice article.

In the mid 80's India lot three very good young talent, Sadanand Vishwanath, L Sivaramakrishnan and Maninder Singh. All lost because they could not handle fame and probably there were no good souls around to help them. Wishing Sadanand all the best for his future.
