Absolutely 100% true. Its Dhonis turn now to get out of the Indian team (OR) He will be thrown out by the angry Indians and spectators after few days.
Dravid is a non controvercial genius of the game Cricket. People does not know how he gathers runs. He keeps the ball busy and keeps the rotation on. One should learn the method of strike rotation from him. I like Dravid, Vengsarkar and now Virat Kohli all these three are alike and G R Viswanath is one step above all these. These are all self less contributors to the game of cricket. The future wall will be Kohli, but, Dhoni is in between spoiling his career with new dimensions which do not serve the purpose. BCCI should take good care of Kohli. He is a captaincy material. Future of India is in his hands. I think Dravid is his idol.

In what way Kohli is the captain material just becos he is good form?Captaincy is not a joke.I think Raina is the best fit for captaincy.Has Dhoni ever spoiled Kohli?Pl ask Kohli himself..When the selectors are keeping faith in dhoni, why should he leave?

Very well said. More than any other cricketer, he is the textbook of batting and fielding. He knows how an orthodox shot is to be played, flawlessly. Despite batting at no 5 he has carved his name among the greats of the game. He was the great wall of India. Virat and Raina too are his worthy successors. This left right combination will take India to cricketing glory. They should work hard at it.
Hats off for you dear Rahul, you inspired a whole generation. A true champion, aggressive to the core with great personal qualities. The real product of great Indian middle class upbringing.

i fully agree with you he should have been playing in on going world cup rather than practicing in nets. he is out of the team because of no cricketing reasons.wish you good luck Dravid. India loves you. dinesh

Agree with you. Compared to many of the players in the present team, Dravid is far better. Even his strike rate is good, he is reliable. This is nothing but politicis of Indian Cricket.

It now boils down to whether Dravid was victimised by BCCI's politics or by Dhoni's politics. It could not be BCCI, as K. Srikkanth who adores Dravid is the chairman of selection Committee. Is it the other man's game

It only boils down to removing a player who does not gel with anyone else and who spoilt the morale of the team by ganging up with Chappel to displace a much better player and capyain of India. All his show is in front of a camera only and it must be admitted that he knows which side of his bread is buttered. His backers are only pointing to convenient statistics making him a giant when he is only a pygmy. All you people should watch him critically and you will find that he will not move from his position in the slips, will not field in close-in positions for fear, will not field in the outfield because he should not tire himself unlike all the other real icons of Indian cricket- Lakshman, Tendulkar, Ganguly & so on.He gets runout because he hates to strain himself for the other batsman's run. So please think before you support a misfit. I am sure the most relieved man to see the end of him is Dhoni, as many of us are.

No way. What he has done in the last 4 years or so, he has disgraced himself. Ever since he surrendered his brief captaincy, he has not been the same Rahul Drvid. His batting record over the last 4 years has been much below average and hardly justifies his being in the team. I wish, like Kumble, he should have realized his time is up and either taken off for a while or hung up his boots totally. It would also have allowed India to experiment with some new comers and find the right man for the spot, if there is any. This is not to discredit him for the fine service he has done for the country for over 10 years when he was actually batting very well. He was one of the best in the business but last 4 years or so he has been a faint reflection of that. The records say it all. He should quickly move on if it's not working for him. As they say, go while people are asking "why" and not "why not"

Abhilash; Since you love your statistics; In the WACA test Dravid scored 91 in the 1st innings and setup the game for us along with SRT who made 72.
In an Ahmedabad test against Sri Lanka India post which India did become the No 1 test team; India were 4/32, Dravid made 170 in that game.
In the Napier test when India was on the brink post a follow on; Dravid along with Gambhir played out over 3.5 sessions to help India draw that game and securing India a series win in NZ.
Granted he is not your flat wicket Indian Bowler Only Bomber like Y Pathan, but I guess he still is more useful to Indian cricket than some of the jokers who could not sustain the pace of Steyn and Bresnan... Bresnan out of all people. Surely India would have reached 350 in both games against England and SAF with Dravid.

He should have practised much earlier. If he is not in the squad,it is due to the fact that he is not fit for one day matches. In previous World cups,he was in the squad. What he has performed? If he really wanted to be in the squad,he should have practised how to play in one day match. people will support only the players who could not make it to the squad.(Irfan,Dravid,Uthappa,Ojha,etc).Selectors are not fools. They also know the strengths and weaknesses of players more than anyone else.
