When India was winning, Coach Gary took all the credit. Sachin himself spoke for Gary that he was an excellant coach.

Dont blame blindly yaar. U know Dhoni became the captain from 2007 onwards...Is there anybody in the team that he groomed as a match winner? All the match winners in the team such as Sehwag, Gambhir, Yuvraj, Harbhajan and Zaheer are groomed by Saurav Ganguly only and Dhoni is simply enjoying the efforts made by Ganguly...And he is an utter failure nowadays. He is concentrating only on IPL and advertisements, isn't it? He is playing the helicopter shot only in pepsi ads...

India's Batting was the strongest during Saurav's days - as also the bowling with Srinath, Kumble, Zaheer and Bhajji. In talent terms neither batting nor the bowling departments of the current team is stronger than that of Saurav's. However, when you compare the win percentage of Sourav (41% if you take out the minnows from the record) and Dhoni (63% -take out the minnows from the record), it is Dhoni who comes out trumps. So with lesser talent Dhoni has been able to give much better (better than all the captains before him) performance as captain. Draw your own conclusion.

Raina is not Dhoni's finding, he is playing in the team when Dravid was the captain...Can u depend on Yusuf Pathan as a match winner??? Also, Kohli is a match winner and he is the best one down batsman in the current team and he is in good form...In how many matches in this tournament did he bat at No3 or 4??? No, Dhoni is simply wasting him by putting at 6 and 7... And dont blame ganguly...In the famous 2001 test match against Australia in kolkatha, Selectors didnt include Harbhajan in the team...But Ganguly insisted to take him in the team and Harbhajan won the match for India...Ganguly was a captain who was always with his players. But, look at Dhoni, in last serires, he blamed Sreesanth in the press meet and this time, he blamed all his players not to play for the crowd...Y he sent Pathan top in the order in the last match? I think it was to hit six and boundaries...If he want to stay there, dhoni could have sent Yuvi or Kohli...

How many matches dhoni won because of captaincy. You cant even count.
Kolkata not because of Ganguly, but Dravid and Lax played lifetime innings, otherwise Harbhazan not even needed in the 2nd Innings. Raina was shown the door when Ganguly was captain. Dhoni groomed him Another player Gautam got a chance to play when Ganguly retired. He is also a match winner groomed by Dhoni

In Kolkatha test, in the second innings Laxman batted at no-3 position instead of Dravid...That was an intelligent move by Ganguly...I donno y u ppl are not ready to understand the situation...Dhoni has got a good team as ponting got a strong australian team from Steve Waugh...When the gr8 players like Hayden, Mcgrath, warne and Gilchrist retired, ponting is struggling both as a batsman and as a captain...If Dhoni is a gr8 captain as u said, will he be able to make canada or kenya as agreat team, if he became the captain of those teams? Dhoni is a lucky captain, but not a talented captain as steve waugh...No game plan, no strategy etc...

Yaar he is a good captain who has got a good team. If Sachin has been made the captain of this very team, I am sure he would not produce results as Dhoni does. Captaincy does matter. Here is cricket you are praised for doing one thing good means bowling, batting, keeping, captincy. But Dhoni does 3 things good. Batting-OK Keeping- Excellant Captaincy-OK India should be thankful to have a captain like him

if sachin was not there we would have scored over 300 runs very easily. because of his presence gambhir our best opener along with sehwag has to bat at no.3, our best no. 3 virat has to bat lower down, ditto for our best no. 4 yuvraj and so on. also we cannot get raina our best batsman at no. 6 or 7. all this because we have to accommodate sachin who unbalances the indian team and no one gets to bat at their best position except sachin (and sehwag). this is too big a price to pay for tendulkar's inclusion. gambhir can do everything that sachin does and then some. thats the price india has to pay to keep sachin in the side.

kohli cant play at no. 3 because sachin has to be played at opening position. thats why batting order of yuvi and kohli messed up and raina cant be taken. sachin is a huge liability for indian odi side and we have lost many matches becuse of sahcin.

If kohli cant bat well, that is his inability. why you are blaming sachin for that. If kohli is not batting well replace him with raina. simple equation. And Sachin is batting not at all well but excellent. So let him do. Why you people are jealous of him

very true nihar ranjan. but people with eyes and brains closed shut and refusing to open it and use it what can one do?
besides the other reason is that they feel dhoni has usurped sachin's popularity, credit, deals worth crores etc. sachin is god according to them and can do no wrong. they refuse to share wins with other players for them sachin wins 'single-handedly' but when the time of sharing credit (or rather blame) for defeats come then for them other 10 players responsible 100% and sachin 0%. they dont want to give credit to ANY other indian player so these people can never appreciate anybody else, ganguly, dravid, laxman, bhajji, zaheer, dhoni, yuvraj etc.
the wonderful use that captain dhoni makes of all his players, seniors as well as juniors is awesome. in his captaincy every player, bowler or batsman has flowered. just compare these players stats under dhoni and under previous captains. it is clear that dhoni extracts the best out of them. even with bowlers like ozha, mishra he has helped india win test after test. very few people may be aware that the 10-15 tests that ozha and mishra have played they have been part of winning team 7-8 times and part of losing team just ONCE.

Journalists following the Indian team have complained that Indian cricketers do not train as much as the other teams. Practice sessions have often been cancelled or postponed with short notice.

so why did not they put the effort before. before dhoni previous captains like ganguly, dravid and kumble, why were they not able to do what dhoni did? why india became ranked no. 1 in all formats ONLY after dhoni took CHARGE?

madhusoodan, you are a true indian fan. you are trying your best that india be knocked out of tournament as otherwise dhoni will have one more WC under his belt.
News is that Raina is going to replace Virat Kohli for the WI match. If it is going to be like that, India will surely loose the match.Virat should play and at number 4 and if Raina has to come in he should replace Yusuf Pathan., Dhoni should stop playing games and select the right and balanced team by also bringing in Ashwin in place of Nehra. If India by chance fail to win the match against WI or fail to quality for QF, Dhoni should be sacked and Sehwag should be made captain for future matches.

ravi kiran, right and balanced indian odi team is impossible so long as sachin is selected. he should be dropped and our team will become best with the best batsman at the best position. sehwag and gambhir best at no. 1 and 2, kohli at 3 yuvraj at 4 and then dhoni, raina and paithan. actually dhoni can bat at ANY position from 1 to 8 AND do that successfully he can bat to the best potential of any position. look up at his stats his performances at all positions is as good or even better than specialist batsmen of that position. but if we have to take sahcin the batting position are going to remain messedd up. nothing can be done about it.
