cricket is a waste of time, but still unites the nation!
by santosh joshi on Mar 16, 2011 02:47 PM  | Hide replies

i have wasted many hours on this silly game called cricket.
i want to warn you.
stop watching cricket!
while our vvip cricket players make millions what do we get from the game?
A false sense of pride on winning and a bad mood after a loss.
cricket is like a narcotic drug!
You are on a high when the team wins!
But like drug addiction you will not dump the team even if it looses!
Stop watching cricket,save time!
Cricket has nothing to do with patriotism.
It is just a source of timepass like bollywood.
These players are not even good professionals, forget about playing for nation and all that rubbish.
a soldier who faces daily death on the border
or a farmer who toils in the field or an unknown scientist who works for hours in the lab are true patriots.
Ofcourse the country earns good revenue as taxes from cricketers!
Otherwise cricket is only an illusion
But still cricket is the only thing which unites indians.
While indian cricket fans are innocent and loyal to the players, the players are nothing but clever businessmen and crooks in some cases.
cricket is a disease transmitted by the british to us!
But cricket is now in our blood and we can not leave it just as it is almost impossible to get rid of drug addiction.

After your hard work at office or study for students- u require some good thing to relax other than excercize & cricekt or any other sports is the best thing to do it.
Other than study/hralth/job- each kid should be encouraged to participate or invove in sporting activities. It brings discipline in life. Otherwise people will waste time in politics/seraila watchin/movie/gossip etc.
Yes while we should give all respest to genuine sportsman & talented criceter like sachin/sehwag/dravid/laxman/kumble etc even during loos, politicinal & medicore like dhobi & his chamchas doesn't desrve any hyping

Right Combination needed
by VENKATESH SRINIVASAN on Mar 16, 2011 02:47 PM

India has to play with 5 regular bowlers & sacrifice 1 batsmen. Both Gambhir & Kohli are not useful for 1 day. Gambhir simply scoring runs but not hitting boundaries when needed. Instead Ashwin should play. Kohli is not good at slog overs. Raina is a good replacement. Both Nehra & Munaf waste. Bring Sreeshant & Piyush while playing against West Indies. Who says Chawla is waste. Leg spinner always expensive but also dangerous for opposition. Mind it. If Dhoni simply give important to batsmen then forget this world cup for India. Good bye.

has to win against WIN and hope that BAN will lose to RSA.. then only they have a chance. if BAN def RSA, then Eng will have 7 pts, If IND loses to WIN, Ind will hav 7 pts...but the Run Rate of India is much higher than that of ENG. I am sure that Eng v Win & Ind v Win will be a close game and Eng Will not be able to improve RR.

Dont worry Indian team is very generous . Ity will not take much opain to reach or play in quarterfinals.

All Indian players have earned their worth through advertisements.

ifs n buts for Team India
by abdul shakib on Mar 16, 2011 02:17 PM  | Hide replies

•March 14: Bangladesh beat Netherlands yesterday and made it six points.
•March 15: If South Africa beat Ireland, they go to eight points.
•March 17: If England beat West Indies, England will have seven points.
•March 19: If Bangladesh beat South Africa, Bangladesh will get eight points.
•March 20: If West Indies beat India, West Indies will have eight points and India remain on seven points.
This leaves India and England with seven points each. And other teams on eight. The run rate will come into play then.

England captain v/s Indian Captain

England has lost to two minnows Ireland and Bangladesh, had a rollercoaster ride till now, but no one has questioned Strauss leadership. But Dhoni is someone who inspite of facing only one defeat is being critisised, such is his blunderous mistakes made. Strauss was right atleast in team selection. Dhoni is a selfish guy.

Dhoni's leadership was questionable...Y did he take singles in final Overs and Expose tail enders to quality bowling?
India's tail enders are Genuine.

Anybody in the world would have opted for Ashwin in atleast 4 out of 5 matches just gone by. World has a population of 6.5 billion, just anybody of sane mind would have done that. Piyush has bribed Dhoni and Mr. Dhoni blames other guys publicly for failure like not playing for country and for crowd. Is Mr. Dhoni playing Piyush for the Country????

u urself questioning and u urself answering for the same.Dhoni in spite of losing only one defeat,he is questioned. But Strauss didnt face it.He is cool.Thats the support they gave for their captain. But here in spite of dhoni's tremendous success rate,he is questioned on and off.Thats the politics of this country. If Nehra gave good performance in the last over, then things would have gone to Dhoni's favour.Even then people will say its not becos of Dhoni but only due to Nehra's excellent spell...Wait and watch.India will win the this WC under dhoni's leadership. Moreover the tailenders were atg the crease. If the main batsmen were playing and facing the last over,Dhoni would have given the ball to Bhajji. So dont blame the captain whenever we go wrong and dont isolate him whenever we go right

Strauss has shown solid guts to lead the team along with aggressive performance. I feel he is the BEST Captain with least HYPE.. Our frnd dhoni is living only in the media hypes & suppport from some politicians in BCCI. Strauss is a Captain Cool in the real manner.

Strauss - even after losing to minnows has been not criticised the way Dhoni has been (as per Mr Mishra). While Dhoni has just lost one tightly contested match and he has been taken to the cleaners by the unforgiving fans and so called experts. Surprising, isn't it. Or is it that we Fans / Experts don't have any sense of balance and have to learn it from our past Masters (who haven't been so critical of their Captain inspite of their being in danger of being knocked out by losing to minnows not once but twice).
