For the Bookies, a huge amount hundreds of crores, is still pouring in. NOw, the trend has been changed! The people who have been betting for India is slowly betting for Pakistan and South Africa! At the beginning of the event, not many betted for Pakistan, everybody was betting for India! So, if India wins it will be a huge loss to the Betting Industry! If Pak wins, situation will be in favor of the Bookie! So the chances are the FINAL will be played BETWEEN PAK AND INDIA and PAK WINS LIFT THE WC IN INDIAN SOIL!
It is all fixed! It is a Hindi Movie! Everybody knows at the end what is going to happen!
Without help from Indian players, especially Captain Dhoni, and the BCCI, this manipulation and fixture of results WILL NOT HAPPEN!

2)Sharad Pawar will become even more rich !
3)Companies sponsoring cricketers will invest more and more money on cricket players that also only few ones like Dhoni and Sachin who will make billions.
4)Bigger betting syndicate will crop up in south east asia.
If India wins,
1)Deepika Kumari,Vijender Singh,Saina Nehwal,Somdev Devvarman or Yashpal Rana will be forgotten by media and corporate houses.
2)TV channels,rediff,NDTV all will focus only on cricket,development of any other sports such as Football,basketball,hockey,tennis,badminton,etc will be left behind and guys who wants to pursue other sports will get demotivated.
3)Corporate sponsors and media will forget development of any other sports and keep on farting on what kind of underwear Dhoni uses or what kind of deodorant Shreesanth uses !
In either case,as a common Indian,I will neither gain or nor lose,whether India(infact it is not an Indian team,it is a private team of a private entity called BCCI which is an affiliate of another private company called ICC with its head quarters at the VirginIslands..registered in a place where they donot require to pay tax similar to how India is projected as a democracy,infact it is private property of GandhiDynasty ! These are arts of deception !!
So should I want the BCCI private team to win world cup or lose it ?

I always argue wd my frds regarding cricket & other sports in India....
If other sports persons get the same media attention and Govt.Support , India will become the sports super power in India...

Venkat & Theta...I can bet wd any guy that no one would be following cricket like me for last 22 years....I dont miss reading Cricinfo for a single day even , even if that may be a Ranji or Sheffield Sield match or Kenya/UAE match...
but wt my point is cricket gets too too much attention by the media & Corporate Houses....Govt also provides too much support to cricketers....
just think ; PT Usha had to literally cry for the accommodation provided to her & Tintu Luka last year...can u imagine this 4 a cricketer ???

Your argument sounds hollow. We have won the world cup only on a couple of occasions (T20 and ODI). Inspite of that, there is a huge following for the game. This has nothing to do with winning or loosing. (Even you have admitted that you follow cricket for the last 22 years). A true cricket fan loves the game irrespective of the result and also whichever team competes. Think of Australia, they excel in Cricket and also in other sports as well. So, the notion that Cricket is hindering the development of other sports is a fallacy. (Also, don't forget, Cricket is one sports India competes well irrespective of results). Other sports are killed by the bureaucratic attitude of the administrators and sports bodies.

after a long time I am really very happy with a comment posted. I would like to add, * stop watching IPL, its a huge amt of money involved thr for a complete nonsense. * dont put the cricketers on the throne of god, they r merely salaried persons who get Incentives even if they fail. * stop talking/dreaming/thinking about the game which has made our country poorer. if we do really have that amt of money to spend on a mere game, nobody would go to sleep Hungry.
But I differ on one note- * its the credit of BCCI, or especially Mr jagmohan Dalmia to have commercialized the game to such extent. * governing body of any other sport should follow what Dalmia did instead of crying all the time.
