Are you a player from Galli cricket where players vie for batting turn and run away from fielding? At least your writing suggets so. Whether it is Sachin, Sehwag or any other opener of the Indian team lasting for 50 overs will it not help the team to build good score? Do you know who is holding the present record of lasting 50 overs in ODI. It is a player from Pakistan, have you heard of him? Did he play against his country then?.

Subhash Deshmukh

The matter is not as much as someone lasting 50 overs in a ODI. The matter is expecting the opener to last 50 overs each time.
How many openers have lasted the full 50 overs and how many times ?

It Seems that the record is currently shared between Haynes and Tendulkar for lasting full 50 overs. The count is 11 by the way.

sachin has been delivering the shame sh@t from so many years scoring 100's and breaking records
Now its high time he raises his performance level and plays 50 overs once he gets a century. A man with his experience and caliber scoring a 100 now isnt gr8 he can even score a 100 batting left.
He threW away his wicket once he got a century agianst SA which is unacceaptabe from him
Any company will remove someone who gives the same performance for 20 years. Its time to raise the bar for sachin as its his last WC

did u see the slog he played once he score a century he has played so many years he must know that team has collapsed once he has got out but still he makes a 100 and gets out as if thats his only job. One of the openeers have to bat out 50 overs specaily when they get a 100 and not leave it to others to come and start slogging

If sachin, Sehwag, Gauti, Yuvraj and and 7 irish players played as team India we have a shot at winning the WC. The fact is that the Indian team ia bunch of overrate4d, overhyped and overpaid players.

Should India beat WI, all the short comings of the Indian team will be forgotten and once again they will be declared as world beaters.

enjoy the game and bear the pain of horrible showings at the world cup. We have been doing it since 1983...

Have you ever held a cricket bat for more than 30 mins in your entire life ?

you really cannot equate experience with batting for 50 overs . After all it takes just 1 mistake to get out.

It is very clear that you are an armchair tv viewer who happened to browse beyond saas bh bahu thi serials and IPL.

please don't wander into Adult territory because you aren't good enough yet

Fact is that this Indian team does not deserve to win the world cup! There are only 1 or 2 players in team who are performing well and this team should not win World Cup, they don't deserve to...

Seriously , how many openers have been able to bat through 50 overs ?

Do you even know what batting for 50 overs means ?

Clearly you haven't even batted for 5 overs , else you would have had some idea.

take my advice, first get out of your armchair.

Bribe some gully cricketeers to take you into their team.

by raghu ram on Mar 15, 2011 10:49 PM  | Hide replies

While there would be the Tendulkar bashers and critics who say that India lose a match whenever Sachin scores a century, the statistics prove otherwise. Of the 48 ODI centuries that Tendulkar has scored so far, only 13 such three-figure scores have ended up in a losing cause for India, while in 33 matches, where the batting maestro has gone past 100, India have emerged victors. One match against England in July 2002 saw a Sachin ton yield no result while the recently concluded match against the same side resulted in a tied game.

The next question that will come up on peoples' minds is "Who has scored the maximum number of tons in winning causes for their respective teams?" Once again, Tendulkar's critics will have their mouths tightly shut because the master tops the chart with most number of tons resulting in a team's win. He also has stayed unbeaten the most number of times while leading a team's win.

To add to all these, Sachin Tendulkar has the most number of 'Man of the Match' and 'Man of the series' awards than any other cricketer in ODIs - evidence to the fact that Tendulkar is a major contributor in Indian wins.

God forbid if Tendulkar got out early from greatest starts of 230 for 1 wicket 10 over to play india got 296 all out this story had been going on for last 20 years. And all the shit of playing for record. Why viru, gambhir r in team instead of ramesh, wasim jaffer just because they score big runs than wasim, ramesh, why zaheer is playing instead of shreeshant, balaji, munaf, because he takes more wicket than rest. so individual scores matter most and they help in team efforts got it Even for 10delkar he had to score runs for being in team. so he score but rest of player are jealous of him and never support him by their own contribution to team total so india lose
