Steyn is anyday better.....

than our superfast spinners like Zaheer, Munaf or Nehra. These jokers has acute loosemotions on ground. Even a toddler can score tons of run on debut against them. These langoors never raised their voice against the pathetic state of India pacers. Had been they protested, thing would have been different today. They prefer to remain silent and Kumble another b.a.s.t.a.r.d with Harbhajan opened the Indian attack on many occasions.

You seem to be good at writing fairy tales. A little improvement in language skills can see you match J K Rowling. Good luck.

What use is that good for nothing Off Spinner Harbhajan Singh?? He has not taken any responsibility in taking wickets as a lead/experienced bowler in the side. I am sure Ashwin would have been more lethal than him. Throw that TURBANOTOR out and get Either Khli or Yusuf in. But alas he is good at licking Dhoni's feet (and God knows what all)so he would be in the Final 11 till the end... no matter he takes wickets or not...

Great selection. Unfortunately neither Kohli nor Yusuf has been used by MS although both are good players. In particular Kohli's performance suffered by taking away his spot in the top order. Clearly MS doesnt know what to do with him. So Raina should come in. Yusuf has done nothing other than bowl off-breaks where Aswin can be of better use. Nehra lacks confidence and fitness, and Sree should open bowling with Zaheer. The above is the most balanced side India can have.

On what basis Raina should be played. Keep the same 11 played against South Africa and only replace Ashish nehra with Ashwin. Keeping Kohli and yousuf out of the 11 is horrible decision.

There is no logic. Kohli is a class player with good technique and more importantly has been consistently performing in the last few months, WHEN USED PROPERLY. He cannot be punished by dropping, for the fault of someone else in NOT USING HIM PROPERLY.

If I were the one deciding the playing XI, I will go with the following team in batting order (with the basic handicap that the selectors had failed miserably to include some excellent players like Robin Uthappa, Pragyan Ohja etc. and hence we cannot drastically change the team midway through the WC tourney):

1. Sehwag
2. Tendulkar
3. Raina
4. Kohli
5. Gambhir
6. Yuvraj
7. Dhoni
8. Ashwin
9. Zaheer Khan
10. Nehra
11. Munaf

Harbhajan needs to be kept out of the Indian team for the next two or three years to enable him to learn some basics of bowling and behaviour. It is better if selectors will forget Yusuf once and for all, we can afford to have only one freak, a maverick at that in the form of Sehwag in the team, two will be too many.

The batting order given above should be maintained in all situations. Raina and Kohli are far too classy not to know how to phase their innings.

(I request Ravi Shastri not to make statements that Raina should come in at the cost of Kohli, because Dhoni will always gamble with a match winner like Yusuf. Match winner, my foot!)

Gambhir coming in at No.5 will be excellent, since he plays spinners well and also pacers, since the ball will be changed after 34 overs.

yes I like your team - but Kohli needs to be there instead of Raina - because his confidence is low now especially against SA.

No meaning!!
by ramamurthy narayanaswamy on Mar 15, 2011 04:47 PM

This stats has no meaning.... like a batsman scoring a 100 in debut and losing track later in his career, a bowler can take a 5-r in the first game itself if the pitch and field is okay. He may slip into to oblivion later if the form is not firm....How cud Bret Lee do in 6 games what took Anderson and a few about 100 games....this has no meaning.......

Hi prediction..look what I said a couple of days back..

India-Aus semifinal
by Bada Bhai (View MyPage) on Mar 13, 2011 04:02 PM

Going by the present status..it is pretty anybosy's guess that India will stand 2nd in the rankings and will possibly taken on New Zealand and (most likely in the 3rd place) in QF

Since Australia is mostly going to top the Group A..they will play the 4rth team in Group B..mostly likely they will win.--this winner will meet the winner of A3-B2 winner ( most likely India)

By that logic India -Australia meets in the semifinal in Colombo

correct. Sachin/ Sehwag combo had carted him all over the ground and he was really listless and clueless. Thank his stars and our cricket stars likes of Yusuf, Munaf, Harbhajan and Nehra they made him look great in the final spell
