I dont think he is a great bowler. He has always struggled against quality batting, was struggling against Sachin and Sehwag on Saturday's match. Bowling out Munaf and Nehra is no big deal as these guys do not even know how to hold the bat.

I do not think Steyn has really bowled well on that day. He got five wickets just due to mindless batting by India's middle & lower order. He was thrashed like anything by Sachin- Sehwag in his first spell.

mind explaining how the not so big deal turns into one when number 9 to number 11 batsmen hit our pacers for 6's and 4's ?

Steyn is a BEST bowler i nworld now no doubt, But look at what our openers Did to world Class bowlers in first 40 overs, they were HIT all over the placer, thats what make our batsmen GREAT....

its rhythem, thats what steyn is,first spell he was very erratic but when he came from other end in second spell ,he was accurate and able to swing, pathan and virat hit him badly in SA but once he gets the rhythem he can become extremely dangerous. He is not Mcgrath or wasim akram who were cunning, accurate with variation and deception.Do not look from just batsmen point of view.
being indians, we should never feel shy of appreciating steyn's efforts..in a batting paradise he is the only flower to bloom on behalf of bowlers from either sides..
india always have defensive strategy..we always think that we should see off threatening bowlers in the opposition line up like steyn and then score runs easily on otehrs..this is where we loose important games..SAfricans or aus always target strong men in the opposition camps and thats y they usually gets the better of the opposition...assume if some one targets zaheer, the entire team cant look for inspiration from any other bowler..sameway, the SAfricans knew that steyn needs to be preserved in the middle and late overs to curb our scoring abilties, which worked...hats off to their strategy..proud being an indian but applaud the africans..

whats matter is overall spell & not only opening spell. Flat pitch, strong batting line up (i mean for flat pitch), still figure of 5/50. It is great
