Dear Sachin, I feel sad. Even after 22 years of playing for the country, you are still expected to win matches on your own. We forget that apart from you there are 10 more players in the team. You have been the run machine in World Cups with an average ...of 60. Even today while you yet again proved your class with a 111 the others around took it easy. You chased the ball in the outfield and ensured that your throws landed on top of the bails. Others preferred to drop catches or go back to the dressing room for a 'rest' while a substitute fielder came in. Sachin, the current Indian cricket team doesn't deserve you. They don't know what it is like to give one's blood and sweat for this nation of a billion people. For them fame and money has come to easy and undeserving - not commensurate to the 'supposed talent' that they posses. Do you remember what you had said to Tom Alter in that interview in 1989? "I just want to play cricket". Sachin, let me also not hide the truth - you are not my favorite cricketer - but one plays favorites only with humans - not with Gods for they are revered, emulated and looked at in awe... [We expect Sachin to win this cup for us. But what about the other players? Are they supposed to be playing ludo in the dressing room? I hope that the rest of the team wake up and realize that they are not there to 'play' in the tournament, they are supposed to 'win' it for India.

Do you think the elephant will stop walking if the d0gs bark?
Donot worry so much. The following things are killing Indian youths:
1.Hatred 2.Jealousy 3.Hypocrisy 4.Irresponsibility 5.Insensitivity 6.Half knowledge 7.SexualMania 8.Argumentative Attitude 9.Lack of self respect 10.Lack of wisdom
Sachin Tendulkar is not a cricketer. He is a role model for his perseverance, dedication, sincerity, humility and concentration.
He is a person, who is able to conquer age.Can we ever think of any other sportsman who is such a force to reckon with even at the age of 38?
From the tempo,I feel even at the age of 42,he will remain a better player than many new comers.
Even at this age,the way he runs in the field, runs between the wickets, keeps his mouth shut and concentrates on the game, leaves the pitch without any complaint if he is declared out,he is really an exceptional human being.
India is blessed to have a great person like Sachin born in India to whom the entire sporting fraternity looks up with very high regards..those who make silly comments on others, did not achieve any special goals in their life, let them bark,Sachin's life will move on..
It is high time that rival captains and the ICC look into the presence of Suresh Raina in the field especially during tense situations. It seems that the Indian team management is deliberately substituting slow fielders like Sachin and Sehwag with Suresh Raina who is a much better fielder. It happened in the matches against England and South Africa, when India was defending totals. In the past, I guess it was against the Aussies when Raina was used as a runner for the injured VVS Laxman, and he literally ran India to victory. Even a fully fit Laxman wouldn't have dared to run some of the singles which Raina took during that innings.

junior shelly, this is old trick, nothing new. every team uses this trick.
BTW, against australia, raina did NOT LITERALLY ran india to victory. He almost ran india to loss. when he kept running where there was no run, and inspite of dhoni telling him to go back, he just kept running. so to save laxman wicket dhoni sacrificed his wicket. this might have led to india's defeat but ishant sharma played well and we won.

Junior Shelly..get u'r facts right....Sach was in the field all the time...Raina replaced Viru, then Viraat (don't know how come Viraat got tired, he batted only for 5 mins!!)...

check agarkar stats b4 posting rubbish. munaf, sreesant n nehra wl never be able to claim so many wickets. its agarkar n pathan's bad luck that they wr not included n praveen got injured else with these 4 (zaheer, agarkar, praveen n irfan) our team wud hv done far better in bowling.

You are right Sonu but Agarkar has past his best, may be because of Age or something else. Otherwise on his heydays he was really good.

Chirag
Agarkar was as frail as a feather. That was his undoing. if he had continued in the same vein he had started, we might have been the champions in 2003 .
Someone please tell that Shankar Mahadevan and co to stop that irritating song. It is really painful on the ears, an insult to the art of music and melody. It is a real pity if we have to tolerate it for another 2-3 weeks. Then maybe India's hpes and performance will brighten.
