South africa introduced Imran Tahir virtually he is good player compare to chawla. Open with Gambhir & Sewag. Tendulkar @ No. 4 is a psycological boost. Next go with only one spinner and bring Raina in. Afterall Yuvi, Yusuf, Rain and also Sewag can also bowl spin. Raina is useful in case of a top order collapse. Think dammit !

Dhobi is the weakest part of indian batting. he should drop himself from the team and give raina a chance. Tendulkar can do wicket keeping in place of dhoni.lol

@raj we would need 2 keepers if sachin is keeping.nehra will stand behind sachin to give him a back up. If our zak bowls a bouncer then the ball will be out of reach of chotu so nehra can do the back up work

The biggest worry playing the WC in the sub-continent was chasing a total of 300 which is a certain defeat.
The emergence of Yuvraj as a specialist spinner who in the last 2 years has been bowling at an ECO rate of 4.78 makes this a viable bowling attack.
India can go with the spin trio of Chawla, Harbhajan and Yuvraj and prevent the possibility of chasing 300. The same combination was tried out against England but the innings of Strauss was once in a lifetime and Bell was also let off by the TV umpires.
The conditions in the sub-continent are not helpful for 3 seamers and most likely Nehra may become a backup bowler.
The final combination is:
Zaheer, Munaf, Harbhajan, Chawla and Yuvraj!
Most of us will argue that Chawla is young and inexperienced, but his googly in the sub-continent could be lethal against SA in particular.
The presence of Ashwin, along with off-spinners like Yusuf, Harbhajan and Sehwag loses its variety and effectiveness.
For any bowling attack to be effective, it need variety. Five of the best bowlers in the country could be a seam bowler. But then do you pick 5 seamers for the attack? No?
Because variety unsettles a batsmen and it is an important but an under-rated aspect of selecting a proper bowling attack.
Ashwin is a better spinner than Chawla, agreed, the problem is we are going with 4 off-spinners in the lineup.
There is still SA and WI matches and if India wins the group seedings it will play Pakistan in the quarters.

I cracked up after reading another babua support bhajji's pathetic bowling with this logic - "You see all the batsman realize that bhajji is star bowler, So they are not giving their wicket to him". LOL...so shane warne and Murali got all these 600 wickets each was because batsman were not aware that these are star bowlers, is it? So batsman have no problem giving their wicket to Zaheer and to star spinners of other team, but they dont want to give wickets to bhajji!" Ha Ha Ha.
