One must see the career graph of Bhajji post Kumble's retirement. Harbhajan who used to get wickets only because, opposition could not score of Anil Bhai's bowling and in trying to compensate for it in our great legendary offie, Bhajji's overs, they ended up giving away wickets to him and made everyone think as if Bahjji is a class bowler. Gone Kumble, and gone wickets for our legend Harbhajan too. The spinning legend can not even take wickets against minnows even in familiar home conditions. Dhoni once again proved he's biased denying Ashwin a chance and justifies it saying, he (Ashwin) can be thrown in anytime and he can perform unlike Piyush who needs some practice. Why the hell then play Piyush? By the time he gets enough practice, the tournament would have finished for India and he would have given a liberal dose of runs for the opposition. It's only his luck, pure luck that's winning matches for him. Proof : recollect his field placings against Ireland and the Dutch. Just see, how other teams have won comfortably against the associate nations and how we managed to squeezed a win. Dhoni's luck might still work for him and India may still end up reaching semi finals or finals. But, on the basis of how the team has played, this inconsistent team with a fragile attack and brittle batting does not deserve to go beyond the quarters.
Re: If chawla bungles under pressure everytime, why play him????

Very true! Harbhajan does NOT deserve to be in the team and it's a sham that he's being branded the main Wicket taking bowler for India.
declare chawla injured and get A.MISHRA or P.OJHA in place, auussei got M.Huessy back, england got Morgan back, why not we get better spinner ? anyway Chawla was given too many chnaces now, even against minnows he cudn't stop leaking runs, or its been 3 weeks and Praveen kumar must have recovered by now, it looks like CHAWLA is going to COST us the CUP. like R.JADEJA costing us 2009,2010 T20 world cups.
everyone here seems to hav some advice to dhoni.. even ppl who never played gully cric.. this is ridicules .. these ppl are thinking and that they have better cric brain than a team consists of garry, dhoni, sachin etc. team hav their reasoning exclusion/inclusion for a player, which public may not be knowing. lets support the team..

yea lets support the team. But remember the people who never even played cricket might be doing well on what he is supposed to do. For example, an accountant doing well in accounting. But these bunch of 11 clowns here is not able to do what they are supposed to do. And these 11 were chosen from 1.1 billion people. So any cricket fan has the right to criticize those 11 clowns.
I mean, Dhoni isnt even trying other players with so called minnows,,,Also if top order collapse, we become too slow to score and anything around 250 will put us in great danger. I dont know man, but I wish Dhoni should have given few chances to Sreesanth, Raina against the minnows,,,
The main worry playing the WC in the sub-continent was chasing a total of 300 which is a certain defeat. With the emergence of Yuvraj as a specialist spinner who in the last 2 years has been bowling at an ECO rate of 4.78 makes it feasible.
India can now go with the spin trio of Chawla, Harbhajan and Yuvraj and prevent the possibility of chasing 300 . The conditions in the sub-continent are not helpful for 3 seamers and most likely Nehra will be a backup. This same combination gave up 338 against England but this was because of the great innings by Strauss once in a lifetime. India's best bet is going with spinners in the sub-continent. Ashwin could be a better bowler than Chawla, but that will fill up the attack with 4 off-spinners and may loose effectiveness in terms of variety.
So the combination is:
Zaheer, Munaf, Harbhajan, Chawla and Yuvraj!
Most of us will argue that Chawla is young and inexperienced, but his googly in the sub-continent could be lethal against SA in particular.
Is MSD trying to kill Kohli ? The openers are bothfast scoring players and when one falls there is no need to send another hitter.Kohli plays fast bowling well and is adept to taking singles .Now you move him down and then the spinners are in force and he finds not so easy to take singles .Had he come earlier he would have settled and could take singles aginst spinners too. Playing Chawla only shows How the selection of team is with out rhymeor reason. It is time to drop -Harbahajan and bring in the other offie Ashwin. If Harbhajan can not take wickets why is in the team ? Not for historical reasons isit? India does not seem to be a team to win the cup -it is looking like a passenger
Let him playi in 6th/7th down role. If Kholi fails again, pls bring Raina in his place. If kholi cant keep his wicket against mennows how can he score against Ausies/Sri lankans/South Africans?
Re: Promoting yusuf is not a good idea
by Sameer joseph on Mar 09, 2011 11:19 PM
yusuf can bat only under pressure, when required run rate is more than 8.00. so he shud come down the order, Kohli was in bit Hurry today as the other top order batsmen, soon he hit 2 fours he though he can go after the bowler, he cud have been little patient watching the ball coming in, but he is good player, whom we needed in the top order, especially when we loose early wickets,
with Piyush chawla's below average performance, they still can accomodate raina with so many 6 spinners in team including him (bajji, yuvi, pathan, shewag, tendulakar, raina). Kohli can bowl some medium pace too, india can bat down till 8 then,
