blessing in disguise?
by Girish Kashyap on Mar 08, 2011 12:57 PM  | Hide replies

It might be a blessing in disguise for England and particularly Matt Prior, since Prior failed misrebly in all matches while coming down, now he may be asked to open which suits him

No...
they will go with Ravi Bopara to open,
Eoin morgan will strenthen England middle order which looked inexperienced and incapable under pressure.

Top teams
by Rajesh Gupta on Mar 08, 2011 12:39 PM  | Hide replies

Only five teams India, Srilanka, Pakistan, Austrelia, South Africa are equal chances to win the WC.
India, Srilanka and Pakis have more chances as because of their strength according to the sub-continent pitches..
Austrelia and SAF are very well balanced sides.

But any team can win/loss at knockout stage and there will be no surprised...

I wonder, in Indian team, how aasish nehra is still there? I suspect, when he was picked in the team he was carrying injury. Till now he is not fully fit and the team is not requested for any replacement...

So Pieterson exit will not make any difference for England chances but yes he was one of the key batsman of England.

You are right!
He was the only technically solid batsman with his experience on sub-continent pitches.

Is World Cup being played ?
by GenNext on Mar 08, 2011 12:06 PM  | Hide replies

People are wondering as to who are watching these matches .
The moment news flash of Cricket on News channel , people in large tend to switch off to some other channel so much so the distrust and hate this sports has earned over the years.
It is no more an interesting topic to talk about.

Barring few fools, rest of India do not bother about it. Evidence is very much there, no crowd gathers and glues to Idiot box in spite of many effort being done on part of machinery to generate Interest back to the game by all sort of drama on and off the stadium.
Many even do not know if World cup is being played.
Advertisers are squandering their money by their investment.

If you are fair, you should admit that 'the fools' include those who look at rediff articles on world cup and post messages on the forum.

India prospective in World Cup 2011
by NeutralMan on Mar 08, 2011 11:57 AM  | Hide replies

All media of India was projecting Indian team as winner of WorldCup-2011, but after Bangladesh, England, Ireland match they did not consider India as contender of WorldCup-2011. But this is right because Indian team cannot bowled out weak teams like Ireland, Canada, Zimbabwe, Netherlands Kenya etc less than 200 runs.

How they win World cup? Only God knows

Why are you so worried?
Has India lost its matches with those teams you mentioning Bangladesh, England, Ireland?
1. They beat Bangladesh (more than 80 runs, a big margin in ODI)
2. They played tie with England (Who won from SAF)
3. They won from Ireland (who beat England)

Keep relax and keep faith in your team.. and anything can be happend to any team on any any day in ODIs.

Yes. Pak struggled against Canada. SA lost against England. Aus struggled against Zimbabwe. Srilanka lost against Pakistan. Then who is favourite?

Stats shows Aus, Pak and India are only undefeated sides in this world cup. In which India also won their both practice matches. No doubt India is hot favourite so far.

Srilanka is also a strong favourite...loosing in one match cannot be ruled out them for winning world cup.
