I agree with Imran

I totally agree with Imran. The bowlers who are quick in the air can cause havoc is these dry conditions. Malinga, Lee and Akhtar (he forgot to mention Jhonson, Tait, Steyn and Kemar roach) are fast in the air thats why the pitch is not a concern for these bowlers where as Medium pacers from India (and all the other nation who have medium pacers) need assistance from the pitch to take wickets which they can't coz pitches here in WC will not going to give them any assistance !

Indian selectors have ignored proven bowlers like Ojha and have experimented with bowlers like Chawala and Aswin based on regional consideration. They will suffer.

Ojha, the best spinner in India was dropped because he can't bat. But they selected Piyush who can bat a bit but can bowl only to give away plenty of runs. But then when have Indian selectors not been consistently dumb and stupid?

Imran owns 300 million dollars. You keep the dahl, sabji, grass to yourself to look more mal-nutritioned

All is well !!!

I think these are all trash talks. After all these ex-players are paid to talk about these things anyway. Indian bowling is alright. About England match, if Strauss knick was heard and appealed, he would be OUT long ago and India would've won comfortably. So, blaming just the bowling is of no use.

Next 2 games are easy ones, India should let their bowlers to exploit the same and shut all these talkers upp.

Also, having less expectations is always a good thing, as pressure will be less and India will fire at the right moments QF stages and onwards.

Md Azharuddin:

ALL games were supposed to be easy, before they were played... :)

Then one by one the games began and you found out enough excuses to prove why they were NOT easy... :)

some info
by Harish Pandit on Mar 04, 2011 01:12 AM  | Hide replies

imran should be ashamed of his country men and his country's ethics. Before he expresses concern over the playing abilities of indians. He was a great player. But he is a lousy example of sportsmanship and politician to boot.

Again let me repeat what Gavaskar said and Sreekanth does not understand "Bowlers win matches, Batsman save matches".

India should play there games with 3 inform seamers and 2 spinners. Or with four seamers. With Praveen and Ishant injured, and Sreesnath and Nehra out of form, india's best chance lies in bring back R.P.Singh. Singh along with Munaf has been the best bowler in IPL.The sad treatment of Irfan Pathan has robbed india of player in Sharne Warne mould.

However a bowling attack of Zaheer Khan/Munaf Patel/Ashish Nehra/R P Singh/R Ashwin with Sreesanth stepping in for Nehra when required is good enough. We can use Yuvaraj and Yusuf as the sixth bowler.

If at all, a new bowler should be brought-in, then they should bring Vinay Kumar instead. R.P Singh could be a gamble.

India's Main problem is politician Dhobi
by binoy mathew on Mar 03, 2011 10:56 PM  | Hide replies

India's problems are:
1. Politician Dhobi: He is trying to get Raina in and drop Kohli. Thats the only reason why Kohli was demoted to no. 8 in the batting position. one more match and if Kohli fails again dhobi can bring in raina into the team. his press conference before the england match saying that it is a matter of slots, was a preparation to demote Kohli.
2. Pathetic and useles bowlers like Harbhajan, Chawla, Sreesanth. Only Zaheer khan is a world class bowler and recently munaf patel is also bowling well.
3. Pathetic fielders and non-willingness to improve on fielding. Dhobi himself saying after the last match, its not possible to improve on fielding because we have quite a few slow fielders. why are you not doing anything about it mr. dhobi?
4. Media pressure. Lot of pressure on the players created as a result of the media hype. There are so many so called pundits who just sit in a cosy chair and make predictions. All of them pick India as one of their favorites to win the cup because they are instructed to do so by sponsoring companies.

Agree with everything you say, except your comment on Harbhajan. He and Zaheer are the only two Indian bowlers ranked in the ICC top 20 bowlers.
The real slimeball in the team is Dhobi. He will do everything to sabotage Yousuf and Kohli, so that his sidekick Raina can get in. He would also use his sleaze tactics to get his other CSK sidekick Vijay into the team in place of Gambhir. That was the reason he demoted Gambhir to one down. Tendulkar is just a part time opener these days, so it leaves that spot open for Vijay when Tendulkar does not open. No other reason for breaking up the established opening pair of Sehwag and Gambhir, who open together in Tests, ODIs, T20s and for Delhi.

Our bowling may not be great but is OK

We need a Captain that can marshall his resources intelligently, instead of blaming every one and everything under the sun, for his incompetence.

India's Blowing not so bad

Remember the same bowling won the matches in recent South African Trip. We need to be supportive only in these times.
