Umpiring is a thankless job and it for the people who can take criticism, move on &try and get most of the decisions right, no umpire will purposefully do a howler ,however in Darryl case he did not have the guts to finish on a high partly because Darryl is guilty of some horrendous decisions he has made in the past particularly Sachin Tendulkar's lbw to Glen McGraw when ducking, in my view Darryl should have give an apology to Tendulkar for that decision he has made and also the last test match shows he not up there with the best of the umpires and its shame that he can’t say final good bye only goes to show what a coward he is, like cricketers who show dissent against umpires, umpires also should be graded and their performance should be monitored and made accountable ..
First S.Buckner(one of the best umpire in cricket history) and now D.Harper. I don't think he is partial. It would have been better if India lodge the complaint after test series.

I haven't seen this match, but Bucknor deserved what he got. He had been failing for a long time. After the 2007 World Cup Final fiasco, he should have retired. Instead he chose to cling on and ended up embarassing himself.

Balaji Krishnamurthy:
Did the India tour of Australia in 2008 happen BEFORE 2007? Is that why BCCI was happy for him to officiate till the Sydney test? And suddenly the Sydney test happened AFTER the 2007 series, and that's why they asked for his removal? Wow!!!!
Wasnt this moron the guy who gave Sachin out Shoulder before wicket?????? ANd when Indian players protested against him for a lot of controversial decisions he told them to 'put up or shut up'. Well seems he decided to shut up for good now. Good riddance. :)
I dont know why everyone is blaming India over the DRS and the Darryl harper episode. I personally think DRS is good, but for some reason, the INdian cricket team is not in support of it. period. No body should tell us it is for the common good, so accept it. Its like saying we think its good..so you also follow it. Australia and England should wake up from their dreams and realise that the imperial cricket council is now finally International Cricket Council. And for darryl harper...if he cant stomach criticism..thats his problem

It is for the records to say whether Umpire Harper was biased or what. It is a fact that Indians were at the receiving end always with him/Bucknor. Look at the way Raina has been penalised ! I have seen this happens to a Indian player or a Pak. player many a times. I have also seen many of english/Aussie plyaers do the same thing and more to get away unpunished. Match Referee Chris Broad is notorious in this respect.
We have no good umpires since venkat, we are very late adopters of technology. All we know is to critizise. We don't have a single umpire in elite panel.Local umpires are no good and succumb to players pressure in giving decisions. Well harper is a well known umpire and his decisions were 97% right when he played, I think we are first saying umpires are no good, drs technology is not right, umpires are foreigners. I think bcci is becoming a monopoly run by the sponsers. No good for cricket. But I like australians and bristish being at the receiving end, but no offence to umpires who have done a great job

Not having any umpires from India doesnot preclude us from commenting/criticizing unfair umpiring verdicts
