Are BCCI a hypocrate?
by readiffmod@rediffmail.com on Jun 30, 2011 02:17 AM  | Hide replies

We have no good umpires since venkat, we are very late adopters of technology. All we know is to critizise. We don't have a single umpire in elite panel.Local umpires are no good and succumb to players pressure in giving decisions. Well harper is a well known umpire and his decisions were 97% right when he played, I think we are first saying umpires are no good, drs technology is not right, umpires are foreigners. I think bcci is becoming a monopoly run by the sponsers. No good for cricket. But I like australians and bristish being at the receiving end, but no offence to umpires who have done a great job

Not having any umpires from India doesnot preclude us from commenting/criticizing unfair umpiring verdicts

england and australia are there in cricket for the pleasure of indian public. they should come perform and entertain us and take whatever change or bread pieces we throw at them. they should not become independent people and try to control it. this is how it has been happening and will keep on happening.

harper learned it in hard way

:) Nice to know that what we thought was a hard fought sport of skills and tenacity is in fact a poorly written Soap Opera with pre-built scripts - as rightly pointed out by YOU!! :)
No wonder we are #1 in this Entertainment Game... :)

A good Riddance
by abhishek sinha on Jun 30, 2011 12:49 AM  | Hide replies

Well Mr Harper have tried to pull off a good stunt but it will do no good to him. I mean it has been a good riddance as far as the indian Team is concerned and it is good for harper as well. With the type of Influence the Indian Team ( Read BCCI) exercise on the ICC nowadays , it will be just a matter of days before he will be kicked out of the elite panel.

Harper actually pulled off a smart stunt. The third test would have been his last, because the ICC seeing that he was failing did not renew his contract. He was out anyway, he chose to make a song and dance out of it

of course not, you are from the aussie cheaters country who was no. 1 for so many years due to match fixing and complaining to third umpires match referees etc. and getting players from other countries banned or fined....

BLAME BCCI

Its dogged stance on DRS. Indians were once very decent in losing today ,compared to very sportive teams earlier .One they win more often and second money has made their behavior more arrogant. Good and bad decisions are part of the game.

True. But when bad decisions go consistently against one team, it is not part of the game. It is something else, a visceral bias which the umpire himself is not possibly aware of

Harper exit
by Engineers Inc on Jun 29, 2011 11:02 PM  | Hide replies

No Problems if he is not willing to work as an umprie by himself. We are not showing our superiority. No one forgets how the Aussies and English used to criticise our Umpires,Pitches,Facilities and what not. Indians have not shown the criticism vehemently Since Harper had done the mistakes which were seen by one and all the same was indicated It is not our fault to show the mistakes in a dignified way. How many times a Ricky Ponting or a Mark Waugh or a Micheal Slater were punished for showing the dissent. {poor Riana was finde for a bad decision which was a clear mistake by the umpire No need to worry it is fair in all respects It is not unfair criticism on Harper Well done India

If what ICC says is correct, then it was just a bad day for Harper and it should not have been held against him. Anybody can make mistakes but that doesn't mean he should have been crucified for that. Spoils the image of the team and BCCI.

Dave richardson and all the west will say that for a fellow westerner who has repeatedly shown his biased and also careless decisions stealing many times worthy winners off their due . what ICC spokesman Dave ricardson says is absolutely bullshit and harper should have long back gone from umpiring . And this saintly ICC never has any voice against ruthless and arrogant comments made by Aussies , british and South african teams against even unpires as respectful as S Venkataraghavan and Aleem dar . The double standard of ICC spokespersons is deplorable.

u r nuts. we have been humble all these year hence we have been treated horribly by the world. itsabout time we stood up to what us right in all aspects of life nnot just in cricket. did the australians care about how the world looked at them when they were bashing other countries?? as a whole we indian lack the killer instinct to finsh off what we have begin. we always let our opposition get by. i am not just refffering to criket here but everything we have done as a nation.

Boss, if someone were to criticise you always when you know you are not at fault, would you accept it as part of human nature and he was just mistaken and leave it at that or would respond to it? Think about it!
