Laxman's 50 half centuries
by Jomesh George on Jul 01, 2011 07:12 AM  | Hide replies

No media has given any importance on the feat of VVS securing 50 half centuries in Test Cricket.Same time When Sachin scored 50 hundreds medias were competing each other to report that.Definitely 50 fifties r not equivalent to 50 hundreds. But most of Laxman's 50 or 100 came at very crucial and vervous situations and he deserves a special mention for that.

Jomesh

what Laxman has achieved is good, but is not headline news. There are players with fifty half century innings, hence this feat does seem less important

Congratulations for you completing 8000 runs exactly in your 122 Test appearance.
You have played a wonderful knock of 85, though you have missed the deserved CENTURY.
Any way, there are plenty of Tests are coming and you can certainly cross 10000 runs.

My heart and soul wish you the saviour of Indian cricket everytime.

You guys along with sachin are the saviors of test team..such legends of cric, its sad to see u blamed for strike rate in IPL. though sachin manages runs for MI,its evident tht IPL is not his cupof tea... wish sachin /laxmen and dravid opts out of playing IPL, they dont deserve the humiliation they get by joining IPL tamasha ..

Youngsters not fit-enough for tests..

Youngsters in the current test team are not proving to be professionals for test cricket incl. Raina who plays risky shots mostly..Maturity is not shown in play by Kohli, Vijay, Raina & Dhoni though we may feel we have a strong middle order batsmen..Stability will be a question after Sachin/Dravid/Laxman departure!!

I am not sure when Awesome 3Some will depart. Its not that I am wanting them to go, but because of prolonging their careers, many a talent has gone by in India. We may have talent in surplus now, but I really feel for some of the players who just vanished because of the GREATS extending their careers.

Ravi

this is not a govt organizational where there is retirement age. It is survival of the fittest.

hence if someone wants to get into the team, he should overshadow the ones that he would be replacing in terms of performance.

even if the said talent does 70% of the ability of the fab 4 , he will be able to take the place of the other player who would be left out.
