There should be 14 or 15 member squad like football and any 11 can play at a time, ie. any 11 can bat, best 11 could field and any from the squad could bowl

No drinks is not that valid argument.. But certainly, substitute fielder can be removed using the same yardstick!! I thought the supersub was a very good innovation.. But teams never understood it n it was scrapped pretty sooner..

Re-introducing supersub and scrapping both substitutes and runners might be a fair one..

"There should not be a substitute fielder when a regular player goes off the field." This is fair if you are not going to allow runners...

THE RULE PUTS BATSMAN IN DISADVANTAGE
by damodaran mohan on Jun 28, 2011 01:34 PM  | Hide replies

I am not sure about the Bowlers' drinks breaks advantage but Gavaskar is right that the decision puts the batsman in disadvantage position. The rule of allowing the runner should be be contd. and left to the rival captains, umpires etc. What happens if a batter is in his nineties and gets cramp ? He just can't be denied his hundred ? ICC should think it over once again.

I think this runner thing should be applicable in all sports..Imagine Rooney gets a cramp and a runner carries him and runs all over the ground. Why does other sports don't have such concepts. sigh! oh I see..its physically challenging :)

If there is no runner allowed, no substitute fielder and no drinks for bowler . a very fair thing.but when was the ICC ever just?it normallyhad chief executives from racially discriminating countries like australia, england, newzealand or their croonies, the south africans or the west indians who somehow try to manipulate to get it against the countries from Asia . When BCCI due to its money power became powerful, they somehow want to compensate by getting rules like this to adversely affect the traditionally batting strong asian countries.

MR sunil gavaskar is correct in his stand as this rule gives undue advantage to the bowlers as then can cool theirs heels on boundary line and the batsmen have to toil hard for his runs ICC should relook at this decision

Why there is a gap in the picture of pak. Is that the area 'liberated' by taliban? or is it that the green area is of taliban and the white is pak?
