I believe most ideas and men were run by Mr. Boycott's country at one point in time.

No saints...

Although there is space to blame BCCI - not due to being Indian's by nationality but due to their corrupt and money minded characters at the top.....Aussies, Brits and western led officals are NO SAINTS.

They led and managed the world thru their own view points, styles and ethics....now they will have to face the friction and fairly allow new leadership which may not completely fit in their traditional selfish thoughts.

It is true that they will feel the pain of experienceing the leadership of countries once they dominated.

Boycott 'Boycott'
by rohit sheth on Jun 24, 2011 06:06 AM

Boycott is always so orthodox as he was the one who opposes the one day format of the cricket years back. I remember him quoting that this format is for charity matches. I think being a good cricketer doesn't allowed you to be a good commentator or thinker. This system of DRS will certainly make a way for Umpires. This type of machinery is made for 'errors' NOT mistakes. I believe that 'mistake' happen in a Cricket Match at International Level is an error. No one do it be means. If you depend upon the DRS, what the use of Umpires ? and MY God ! Could you imagine Cricket Match without Umpires ? Yes, May Boycott will play ! ]
Please stop this guy, he is always crazy and always feel happy in making controversial statements.

international fame umpire Vekat as we fondly call is against DRS.Is geoffrey is more knowledgeable than him in these technical matters.

Today many nations & commentators are jealous of indians fame & success,& hence these type of comments. We will decide DRS on our own terms when appropriate & do equal justice to all. Let every body keep quiet.

He is not an umpire, he is a retired umpire - so then what vested interest would he have in opposing it ? FYI India has not opposed DRS, India has only asked for inclusion of hotspot and snicko in the DRS system for it to accept it, and that is a very reasonable request.

No Umpire past, present would like to have some suprevisory system above them It hurts their Egoes, and in current SL tour of England they have all Gizmos in action Why cant India accept it? A young professional players career may be ruined by poor autocratic umpiring decisions.Keep players in mind and not BCCI and ICC bigwigs

No to predictive technology..
by bigben bigben on Jun 23, 2011 11:17 PM  | Hide replies

Eliminate predictive technology - whether ball will bounce over the stumps, miss the stumps, etc. It is not fact.

Let technology be only used for facts - was there an edge, did ball hit in line, pitch outside leg, etc.

Predictive technology is dubious. Let umpires make the judgement of how ball will behave.

If above is accepted, India will accept UDRS in no time. That is their main objection and I agree.

Exactly right, complete solution i.e HotSpot and Snikkometer should be used along with hawkeye. Otherwise you will not get the right decisions
