If Sachin is motivation for Dravid, then why did Dravid declared the innings in Pakistan when Sachin was batting on 195 or so and needed a few overs to complete his double century.Even most unsporting cricketer like Javed Miandad resented Dravid's declaration because Sachin wud have equal his dble century record at that time.

Go back and watch the clip its Mr.Dada who was the first to call him. Not Dravid, He is a gentleman and he would not come out and say that.

Raghav

1) the captain does the calling
2) whats done is done.
3) No, I am a tendy fan and I feel what Dravid did at that time was in the teams best interest. Albeit waiting for 10 more minutes couldn't have hurt anyone

"Albeit waiting for 10 more minutes couldn't have hurt anyone"

Then how can you say that captain did the right thing. No it was never right thing to do because what you said. It was basically due to......, without any doubt. I do not care about 100s or 200s. But what is wrong is wrong always.

Sorry Sir, Mr Dada was at Calcutta when Dravid declared the innings after the consent of the former. In this case both the people are the culprit

I am Tendu die hard fan BUT Sachin was informed to fasten the scoring rate and complete his 200 as the declaration is COMING. Dravid was not jealous. Sachin played horribly slow when he neared his 200. So it was not purposefully done. Just an inconvenience. I was really surprised when Sachin Said that he was NOT Aware of caption thinking of declaration. I remember very well that one set of cricketing legends even appreciated Dravid for the declaration not waiting for Sachin's 200. So it was all correct as per Cricket!! rules.

true the day was nearing its end and pakistan had to be put under pressure and a decent no. of overs had to be bowled to them. if more overs would have been lost to allow sachin get his 200, pakistan would have had to play out very few overs till the end of that day's play...dravid decision was for the best interest of indian team...individual interest always comes afterwards....

GANGULY SHOULDN'T HAVE RETIRED
by paowzcpwd on Jun 19, 2011 05:45 PM

IF DRAVID WHO IS NEARING 39 CAN STILL PLAY IN TESTS, WHY NOT GANGULY?. GANGULY SHOULDN'T HAVE RETIRED FROM TESTS AND SHOULD HAVE SHOWN PATIENCE. HE WOULD HAVE BEEN STILL BE PLAYING.

READY FOR A GAME OF POKER ?
by damodaran mohan on Jun 19, 2011 05:36 PM  | Hide replies

Although India is no 1 TEST side but still somehow the series appears more like a race between two also rans. By the way, does any one have any clue how the series would pan out ? How good are going to be WI fast bowling? No one knows. Would WI batting measure up at all as a TEST batting side ? It is any body's guess. How dependable are going to be the depleted great Indian batting side ? Can the inexperienced Indian opening pair give a good start? Or is it going to sputter ? Can Parthiv Patel stay on the wicket all of ten overs ? How strong a WALL Dravid is going to be given his long lay off ? How Very Very Special Laxman going to be? Can Dhoni get back to his captain 'wriggle out ways' fast enough as he is known for ?Most important , the India bowling, which presently looks formless or shapeless like a ghost because no one has any idea about the likely composition. Can Bhajji manage a wicket every thirty overs at least? Questions, questions…and more questions answer to which we would know only after the match starts. Till that time we can only hope our 'class' batting side would pick up steam once it gets going.

stop comparing
by arun rai on Jun 19, 2011 05:18 PM  | Hide replies

why d hell r u guys comparing two different characters.

sachin is d undisputed king, a class act, with loads of talent and determination. but at times he too has failed on some occasions, which is obvious (after all he too is human).

on the other hand we have another fellow who has exceptional cricketing brain and some talent to back it up. No one can deny that.

both r poles apart. so plz stop comparing them.
