First of all the match (IPL finals) was on 25th May (not 25th April). World cup finals was played on 2nd April. Had he undergone MRI immediately after the world cup finals and undergone rehab, he would have been ready to play for KKR with full fitness for last 6 league matches.
First of all he needs to explain why MRI report came in on 24th May, when the inury occured on 2nd April.
He has every right to put IPL ahead of Indian team, it is his personal choice. But Indian team selectors should take him with equal seriousness and make him second option player when the main player is not available for selection.

Fans would'nt have been so critical if he picked up the injury late in IPL and could not make it to the ODI series. He did this with full knowledge and there is no question about it.
Captain of India Cricket Team - This position is not so easy. Gambir for the sake o Domestic match, he missed the big honour and the name in history of "Gambir who led India to victory in 2011 WI tour".
This honour cannot be bought even he pays 20 crores.
gambhir, you have done no wrong. it is actually sachin who should be panned.
sachin already has so many palaces all over the world. just recently he bought another palace worth 39 crores in mumbai.
he wants to rest and spend time with his family. so he chose to skip national duty. and played ipl. by touring WI he would not have earned enough to build or buy another palace. but his days spent in the ipl 4 could be used to buy another palace. he chose ipl and money over nation. he could have spent time with his family during ipl and went to WI. instead he chose to play ipl and spend time with his family instead of going to WI.
gambhir did not play in WI because he is injured.
sachin did not play in WI becaues he is not injured...

sachin did not play because he wants to be playing cricket as long as he can, specially test cricket. He is 38 years old and if he plays in all the series that India play which is some hell of a lot of cricket he can't play longer. And in that way its better that Sachin does not play in ODI's against minor teams like west indies. We all know what the Nation means for Sachin, come on don't be so harsh on the legend!!
Gambhir did the right thing by choosing to play in IPL. Most of the cricketers have a very short career, and once that is over they may run short of money. So what is wrong in earning as much money as possible, while the opportunity is there. Playing in the national team fetches much less money, and there is a lot more politics in selection there because only 11 vacancies are there. IPL has allowed many unknown cricketers to earn decent livelihood and its a good thing.
